Hard fought two points the Caps looked Dangerous most of the second period and all of the 3rd period Regan made some outstanding saves tonight and won us the game. How Reber can get two minutes for holding when he is skating towards the plexi with a Caps player behind him simply beggars belief. This has to be Wilsons last season in the EIHL he is simply not up to the task the Caps goal when the puck was hand passed should not have stood either or the two minutes on Regan when the goal come of the moorings. 38 points now and 10 games to go with only 10 points needed to match last seasons tally.......

Well happy with win but we had our chances to bury them in the first but guilty of overplaying and shot shy..credit to the caps for staying in it..portwood is definately a guy to get in a Fife jersey next season..pass marks for reber..ned..and regan..have to step it up a level even against a depleted devils side.

Thank goodness we won that game, it was torture !
I thought that we had blown it, and potentially our season, after absolutely thrashing them in the first period. But we showed good intestinal fortitude and came through by the odd goal.
Regan kept Murrayfield at bay with some excellent saves and was deservedly MoM.
Can we follow this up and win in Cardiff tomorrow ? I hope so but I wouldn't be betting on it. Fingers crossed.

Entertaining enough game, with Caps playing at full strength and showing that they are capable of causing teams problems when they have 11 imports icing.
Only minor gripe is the Flyers, for a team fighting for its life is becoming a bit over elaborate when we get a couple ahead. We got away with it last Sunday but we got a heck of a fright tonight. Caps would have been worthy of a point in the end but Flyers should have been even further in front after that excellent first period.
Hopefully Caps can now take some points of our play-off rivals. They do have seem excellent players like Hartmann, Dobron, Leinweber and Portwood. The goalie is good too although he was playing with a pretty bad injury tonight by the looks of it.
Regan, Reber, DaCosta, Horne and Muir were our best tonight IMO. Reber was also the first player ever to be called for holding when skating in front of an opponent- Wilson truly is amazing.

Reber was also the first player ever to be called for holding when skating in front of an opponent- Wilson truly is amazing. Maybe it was supposed to be a "Holding the Stick" call? Flyers should know by now that when Wilson is the ref, he will usually let the 1st period flow, then call everything in the 2nd, then start dishing out make-up calls in the 3rd. I doubt it's intentional but it's a pattern I notice has emerged when he ref's games.

Jeez that was a harder two points than it should have been after an excellent first peiod from Flyers.
Maybe we thought that we could save some energy for the trip to Cardiff and just coast the next 40 mins but whether we sat back or Edinburgh raised their game it certainly gave Caps momentum and let them back into the game and they fully deserved something out of the game
I thought out third line were under a lot of pressure in our D zone a lot of the time.
I also thought that Dutes was going to bench Chaumont towards the end of the game when he put Hartung back on the second line and it instantly created a a good scoring chance.
Hiadlovsky certainly looked like he was playing injured after a fantastic toe save in the first peiod seemed to pull his groin.
Reber penalty was indeed for holding the stick rather than holding.
Two point is two points and it keeps the momentum going

Dutaiumes got to be smarter with this rolling 3 lines, as Harlan says the third line was under a lot of pressure at times but most of this was due to being out against the leinweiber Hartman line on quite a few occasions. I really think he should be going with 4 D more because if dacosta is out with Haines the next pair of either Nickerson Horne or Muir uv got 2 really quite slow d men out together. I'd like to see dacosta with Nickerson and Haines with either Horne or Muir rotating in with him. Edinburghs always a tough place and they've just beat Dundee and took Braehead close at home so still a valuable 2 points. Today is the big 1 though!

That's what it should have been (if anything) but Wilson gave the holding signal, it was announced as that and it's also that on the game sheet. I think most of us expected the Cap to be called for holding.
