Thanks for the updates stirling. Well done Flyers but a result expected against an understrength Caps team.

Good to see Douglas getting some ice time and got great ovation from the fans, for me Paquet shaded the MOM last night. Got to feel for the Caps and in particular Riley Emmerson who had put together a good squad at the start of the season, only they will know what has been going on behind the scenes but something can't be right when you lose most of your top performers and replace them with some very poor players who in all probability are a cheaper option. Hopefully the Caps can re-group and get a competitive team on the ice next season, although on average crowds of 600 this would seem unlikely, more imports year on year in the Elite league could spell the end of top level ice hockey in Edinburgh. We could very well see Belfast replacing Caps in the Gardiner conference next season, with a new team further south joining the Erhardt, although I sincerely hope not.

That was talked about at the fans forum at last year's playoffs weekend

The Establishment clearly feel Clan have a starting advantage being in the Gardiner I expect a change for next season Storm in the Erdhart and Giants in the Gardiner or Scrap the Conference system and each team plays home and away games against other teams 3 times 54 games

Yeah it was great that Douglas got some ice time last night but two or three minutes at the end of the game, come on!. You sit on the bench all season to get on for such a pitiful amount of time in a game that was finished donkeys ago. He should have got the last period surely?

An easy win in the end against a struggling Caps team. Lots of hard work from Flyers and some nice hockey played at times. Dorr would have been my MOM if only for his work rate all night. Good to see the usually unused Brits getting ice time. Agree with Tam, would have liked to have seen Douglas on as soon as the shutout was lost.
