A really good win and a great team performance last night. Thought Cullen was our MOM but it could have been one of five or six. Never looked like losing and kept Storm out of the game almost throughout. The defence rarely looked troubled and the forwards punished Storm's mistakes. Toby had a good game and had his eye on Didiomete after the Diddy threw a punch at Tommy on the bench. Toby watched him like a hawk and took the first opportunity to toss him out of the game. The linesmen were pretty good too, not missing much compared with what we put up with at Kirkcaldy. A loud travelling support made for a good atmosphere in a rink with horrible sight lines. I enjoyed my first visit there though, mostly due to the team's efforts and a pleasing result.

Well done to Stirling Flyer. As usual reading that, its almost as if I was at the game. Hang on, I was at the game. LOL Quite apart from the fact that I couldn't type as accurately as that even when not partly ****ed, myself and those around me don't actually know who did what and when with any certainty? LOL Keep up the good work. Flyers are in the play-offs again this season which cant be too shabby. Lets get some of those key players signed up for next season. Having 11 or 12 newbie imports handicaps us as the team takes longer to gel.

IMO I think that the table for this victory was set in the last 20 mins of the game in Sheffield.
It's not like we played badly in the first 40 against Steelers but that final 20 we were much more aggressive in our play, we were physical, we played with speed and had a lot more intent about our game and I think we went out to purposely put in a 20 mins like that with the game against Storm fully in mind and the league really did us a favour by arranging the game against Steelers as I would much rather have a game the night before rather than sitting doing nothing and thinking about a game this important.
It's not like we had our own way against Storm, they put a good deal of pressure on us in our own zone in the first period but we dealt with it and the more they got nothing from us the more they got frustrated Storm tried everything to disrupt us and once they knew they would get nothing playin skilful hockey they tried to bully us with rough tactics and that didn't work either.
Full marks to Flyers for retaining their composure throughout the whole game and not letting the occasion get to them.
We did get some breaks. Thought Cullens second was an obvious high stick and Dorrs blistering slap shot could have been whistled down for the Lee/Roehl altercation on the boards but I think we were well in control for the majority of the game.
I don't know where they got nearly 50 shots on Brown because for long periods he didn't have a lot to do but he was excellent when called upon.
So many put their hands up for MoM last night but Delahey and Rioux were particularly outstanding and I too would have given it to Cullen as I thought he was superb all night
