We cannot expect to win just because they had a depleted squad they have some fantastic players, the had a game plan and worked it very well, we tried very hard and worked very hard used the squad very well , must remember we have another a game in 18 hours once again we will be looking for a victory and a good performance not the end of the world getting a point Your correct it's not but when your road form is pretty poor, you need to win as many home games as you can.

The reason we gave away the goals on the Braehead powerplays was down to not being able to do the basics tonight i.e. get the puck out of our zone. Both goals our d men gave the puck away when they were trying to clear it. Otherwise we could have easily dealt with their PP. We ytry to do too much work on the puck and can't seem to adjust and get a passing game going. Caps will do the same to us tomorrow. Casey and Stewie will skate into a cul-de-sac all night and we'll get hit on the brreakaway - unless we get smarter than we were tonight. Bobby's pen shot must be one of the poorest efforts I have seen this season and I would prefer that he kept his laughing and joking with ex-team mates for the bar after the game. After losing a game like that he should be hurting so much he can't smile.

We probably would have played better if Braehead had more of a squad as they probably wouldn't have played that smothering system they played tonight.

We're at our best when we're not expected to dictate the game. We were awful tonight though! Didn't seem to be anything in the tank. I'm sure the effort was there and it's just a bad day at the office but that's a big 2 points we've just given up. We win in regulation an we're level with Clan with 2 games in hand. We're now 3 points behind and needing something from Edinburgh tomorrow.

We seem to be ok when we're playing catch-up in the league but as soon as we catch up, we bottle it.

Cowan was never going to call the penalty on Carriveau until McPherson had a word in his ear. All three major decisions, the two penalties that led to the Clan PP goals and the disallowed Flyers OT goal, were shocking ones by Cowan that had a direct influence on the game and both of Clans goals came when we had D men in the box Clan never sent a man high to forecheck us in our defensive zone when we had the puck all night. Five men in the neutral zone to clog the life out of us and take away our space and speed and it created a really flat, boring game. Harlan spot on . Its a pain in the rear when officials win games instead of players . The only reason it looked like we could, and should have won it in OT is because at 4 on 4 Casey had more room. At least we got a point but because of Cowan it should have been both

The Clan played really well tonight apart from our 1st they were very disciplined and hard to break down playing a good defensive system. With them clogging the neutral zone we really needed some high cross ice dumps with the wingers skating very hard as we brought the puck up the ice to gain momentum and win the puck in the corner as when we got the puck in their zone we did ok although their D collapsed well. They obviously gave Will more protection than they give Zemmer.
Two weak calls by Cowan led to their goals and the goal in OT was a perfectly good goal. Why did Cowan blow so soon when Will never looked to have covered/held the puck some refs blow far too soon for my liking.
Nicolletti played really well as did Farmer for the Clan.
At least we got a point so its not a disaster especially if we can win our next 3 games.

We will get another two shots at Clan next weekend. Speaking to one of their supporters last night apparentley Galbraith wont be back any time soon he is getting an operation on his leg. They are bringing in 4 new players on 8 January one of which is a starting goalie looks like Zemmer might not play again based on the back ups performance last night. We know what kind of system Clan are going to play in the next two games with us so i,m sure Todd and Danny will sit the team down and watch the tape and come up with a game plan. The other good news is JP ban finishes after todays game, barring any injuries/illnesses Flyers will have 10 imports on the ice next Saturday.

Actually I don't see the Clan being that negative at home to us next week at all but they will probably have the same game plan against us next Sunday at Kirkcaldy.
We always struggle against teams that take away the neutral zone and limit our space and speed.
The call on Carriveau that Cowan never called that Clan scored their second goal on and had Flyers going mad was because Birnstall was still on the ice and it was him the play was stopped for as it was an injury call and as such Birnstall should have been off the ice. Any player that is injured is not allowed to be on the ice for the next shift if play is stopped for his injury, Birnstall was and Clan scored on that PP.

I thought it was Nicoletti he elbowed. He did seem to make contact and the referee looked at it before pausing and then seemed to call it without signalling. As Nicoletti got 1+1 - assuming it was I was correct in that he was hit - then it would appear he was on the ice when both their goals were scored.

I thought it was Birnstall but it looks like you were right but the argument still holds that he shouldn't have been on the ice
