We can forget our chances in the play offs coughing up seven goals on home ice to a team below us. Poor performance tonight - the difference was motivation. I had a feeling that we would lose tonight. Stars needed the points, we can't perform against teams in our conference only seeming to rise to the challenge against teams that are stronger than us. I suppose we had nothing to play for in this game, or tomorrow night, but as you say stirling shipping 7 goals at home is pathetic.

For me, owen coughed up 2. The slow disinterested d were at fault for the others. First time ive seen shane having a go at them, still wouldn't bet against them pulling it off against Belfast though whick hilights the failings of this lot thid season.

Todd rightly off on one in his post game interview. I actually thought it was some of the forwards who let us down tonight. Why oh why didnt he put chad smith (or gunny/wilson) to embarrass or wake up thinel, fox or unusually brooks who didnt show up tonight. On a positive note schaber, finucci and wando were excellent, while tommy, scoony and isaacs played hard.

Another frustrating night where Flyers only turned up for part of the game, and some didn't turn up at all. Decent first period, but Stars were superior in all departments and deserved their lead. The second was woeful, with Dundee so far on top it was embarrassing. A better start to the third but as soon as Stars got number six Flyers's interest level dropped again. We were out worked all night and never matched Dundee physically. Agree with nm1 that Schaber, Finucci and Wands had good games. If Fox and Sisca put in as much effort as Carlo and Isaacs their contribution much be noticeable. Too often this season too many players have taken the night off. Not good enough.

Todd;s interview is like watching Groundhog Day. Blah blah blah blah blah choices, blah blah blah blah blah players not turning up, blah blah blah How many more interviews do we need to watch from a coach who obviously can't motivate and keep motivated a bunch of chancers that masquerade as hockey players. We need a more forceful coach one who is gonna kick some ass and maybe show some emotion during a game. Taxi for Dutaime, and the majority of this seasons squad.

Todd - Big picture some guys wont be back next season! Well that sure as hell will motivate them to give their all over the next 3 games eh. Some interview Todd admitting that guys can not try yet will be playing the next game regardless. The ball is at your foot mate you should have made changes long ago when it was obvious to all the fans that not every player cared about the team or being fit enough to play for this team. When is he going to wake up a realise that its up to him to set the standards required to play for the Flyers and stop just expecting guys to do it on their own. Less points than last season and finishing yet again with a losing record. Some job coach.

I actually agree with what he says but he's been saying it for close to 6 years! How about you stop allowing your players to go out in the town on the lash the night before games most weeks by the looks of it! Or maybe bench a guy when it's clear they can't be bothered because he doesn't think twice when it comes to benching a Brit, he sees what's wrong but he can't ever do anything to sort it, we've had probably the worst brits since day 1, we allow imports to go out the night before games since day 1, we look the least fit club in the league since day 1, he knows it yet it never seems to change, we need a professional hockey coach in here and Tam needs to play his part and realise it's 2017 not the 80s, these are professional athletes, some fans need to see that as well. It's not acceptable that your coach comes out in interviews after 80% of the games in a season saying guys took the night off, and nothing changes, bet they were full of life in Bogarts last night though. Shambles. If we had a team that finished 6th but came out and worked their asses off every night and played physical fast hockey I don't think most of us would complain too much, the worst thing about it is we're going to finish 6th, with no full time brits, guys out on the drink, and guys not turning up half the time, imagine where we could be making some adjustments to the attitude and having a couple full time brits, things that do not cost vast sums of cash.

This was the last game I will make this season, and it was a fitting way to sign off the season with this bunch of players.
I understand that Dundee had much more on the line, and that it appeared the flyers couldn’t really care less. But when you get a big home crowd - don’t the players feel the need to at least TRY to engage in a game?
Also - Why start Owen? Terrible coaching choice. If this game WAS pointless for us, throw Douglas in. Shows just how little faith Todd has in his backup.
On a side note, I think i figured out the problem with this team. Tam has told them he wants value for money. So...we get 16 minutes of good hockey from this team a night. Next year, when the tickets go up by a quid, we should get that extra minute's worth of good hockey. All the rest of the time, we will: - No backcheck - No forecheck - Dump and chase regardless of position, lines, or PP. - No protection for our own players/goalie. - Failure to make 10ft passes. -Forwards allowed to skate into our zone with no challenge. - Players looking for massive cross ice hero passes, instead of the simple play. - Repeated failures to reload and break out our zone (and I agree..who wants to skate ALL the way back to our own zone - hey everyone expect Dingle, Chase and Issacs?) And so on and so on.
Yawn. Utterly rubbish game from 80% of fife, and this bitter aftertaste of paying alot of coin for the pleasure is not something I hope we are repeating next season.
All that said - Giants in the playoffs? Yes please. We CAN win this, and if we get to the finals, anything can happen with a goalie like Owen.

I believe that both Todd and our imports are culpable for the poos season we have had.
Todd is too nice to be hockey coach he can't handle the big ego's and personalities of the imports, how many of them over the years should have been benched or gassed?. Different if your a wee local laddie heve at them in the press and sit them on the bench for the season. We need a new coach, but please not Hutchy.
As for our choice of imports in six years we have never got it right. Six years of trying to find the right blend and right group of professional guys who can take us to the next level. Six years of failure, six years of seemingly never ending stories of guys not turning up, unless its for the pre game drinking sessions down the town. Six years of many of the imports treating Fife like a holiday camp.
I'm reet scunnered.

Six years of many of the imports treating Fife like a holiday camp. I'm reet scunnered. I would disagree on a few points Joe, Haines Pitton Hogg Keller etc team was terrific to watch. I really enjoyed that season and we pushed one of the best panthers teams in recent memory to the very brink in the playoffs. We could and should have built a solid base on the back of that season (the only season to date when we signed a brit from outside Fife). Other than that its been individuals rather than any team that has given me reasons to keep coming back. The first nickerson season or the run to the playoffs being my only other real fun time. That and the big fella in general during his time here. That has worn off these days and over the past 2 seasons I have missed more games than I thought I would The hockey and passion on display has been god awful with the obvious exceptions. The other thing for me is blaming the imports for this season I don't not for a minute. They get away with not trying or playing poorly because our coach lets them. They go out drinking because our coach lets them. They don't train off ice to maintain fitness (some not all) because the coach lets them. For a coach to point the finger at his players for their failings he is pointing the finger at his own poor management skills, At his own failings as the head coach. Something we have all seen over the EIHL seasons. Team toughness and not having a guy who can fight if required has hurt us the past 2 seasons, how often have we watched Owen get run with nothing done Dingle taking punishment or Moyer this past weekend from Faryna. Thats all on Todd, you cant sign a team without that style of player then moan when guys don't give their all with no back up in this league.

only thing wrong with the season 2 elite team no grit away from home, if they had that they would have walked the conference that year but they were awesome at home
