First.. Welcome back stirling. It is soo good to have your very descriptive updates back up and running. Joe, colorado and others have done a good job in your absence but you are the master Thanks for your updates and comments guys. Lets hope the injuries are not too bad and Flyers can keep their season going well.

There were 11 brave souls in the away support section last night. Looked to me that Isles was hurt in the warm up, he went down for a shot and took a while to get up and looked in pain, took another couple of shots upright then moved out the goal, he was replaced after 42 seconds in the game when the first Steelers goal went in which incidentally was a hard shot from the outside and normally a routine save. Marr had Steelers all over him for most of the game with a few goals coming close in, to be fair it looked like Flyers were just out to keep the score respectable given the injury crisis, all players were given ice time but not as much as you would have expected for the Brits. The home side never really took their foot off the gas realising they could do their stats a big favour. Fitzgerald was his usual goony self which Heelis tried to capitalize on successfully getting the home player a few seats on the penalty bench ( especially after being threatened by the big D man Heelis flattened him on the next shift.....lol) Fitzgerald was arguing with Moyer from his own bench whilst waiting on a face off in the home end on the PP in the third period which culminated in an unnecessary clash late in the game which had Moyer limping very badly from the side of his own net to going past the Flyers bench and out the door where the Steelers come on....obviously having played there he knew where the first aid room was, the home man received a 2+2 for his troubles ....an absolute waste of space. Many Steeler fans are predicting Thomson to be removed from office and replaced by Nottingham's Corey Neilsen with the GB coach Peter Russell leaving MK and relocating to Nottingham at the end of this season.

Can’t see either happening myself. If Neilsen was offered contracts during the season in Europe I’d hazard a guess he’ll be scouting for the same now. Don’t think Thompson will be leaving Steelers either just because of another bad league campaign; seems he is very good friends with the establishment and unless he falls by his own sword he may well be there for the long term.

We had quite a bit of time to kill at Sheffield so spoke to quite a few locals, perhaps they have all heard the same rumour and repeating it. Regardless some of the people we spoke to were hoping Fife would win to put a nail in Thommo's coffin but that quest was never on.
Forgot to say I forgot how bad / cheesy Dave Sims and his sound alike are on the microphone at Sheffield I really could not stand it every week.

If Thomson or any of his players think that was Fife Flyers last night they are deluded Simms Fife beat Panthers Steelers beat Fife it was damage limitation last night Ronnie is right though Simms on the PA system is crige worthy what he comes out with He does a lot of good things for charity etc and that is commendable so fair play But he loves the sound of his own voice doesn't he

He certainly does ..... even the local fans can't stand his antics.
