Outstanding performance once again from Pinkston, he must of played 40 mins, yet not even nominated in the four for MOM, there has to be a better way of picking MOM,the D men very rarely get reward the deserve.

Really good performance from the Flyers. You can see exactly why Guildford are having such a good season. They were fast and dangerous going forward. Made the Flyers work far harder for their 2 goals than they had to for theirs.
That said, I felt the best team won. The Flyers played with intensity, creating mistakes pinning the Flames back for long spells. The overtime effort especially was brilliant.
Getting Crowder back has helped Basaraba and Cazzola who I both thought had a good game knowing they weren't going to have to endure long shifts.
Would agree with the point that MoM needs looked at. Gauts sat out for a good part of that game so had no influence whilst Moore and Pinkston drove the team on from the back. Week after week I become more and more impressed with Craig Moore.
There was a point where we were caught in a breakaway where they had loads of options. Craig took all of them away with some brilliant awareness and skating and shepherded the puck carrier away to the corner with no fuss.
Great with the puck too. Love seeing him drop the shoulder and driving at teams.
Bit worried that the overtime effort will take its toll tonight but the same effort will be required against a physical Panthers side. This is where the fans are really needed.

The sloppy goal a few seconds in took the edge off an even and entertaining first period. Flames looked far more dangerous in the second as Flyers huffed and puffed a bit. A good third period from Flyers got the deserved equaliser and then in overtime Flyers were well on top with the same number of shots that they managed in the second. Great effort from Owen in the penalty shootout and two lovely goals from Cazzola and Gauthier sealed the win against a pretty good Guildford team. Thought Pinkston and Moore were our top performers with Owen, Cazzola and Bloodoff also having good games. Getting tired of talking about the refs during and after the game. Far too many soft penalties on both teams and ref Miller never made a call until 55 minutes in then appeared to want to be the star of the show. Horrible hit on Cazzola was dealt with correctly though both by the refs and Gauthier. It’s a pity that it took 40+ games for Flyers to stand up for each other. Happy with two hard earned points against a good opponent.

Wow what a game that was very entertaining indeed and just goes to show this team can do it even when short on numbers 1st period we got of to a bad start caught sleeping with 27 seconds gone Flames are a fast moving slick passing well drilled outfit and can catch you on the hop Flyers recovered and took the game hard to Flames in the first with umpteen chances Flames net minder and metal work stopping everything 2nd Period Flyers were outplayed no Scott Arssen either and our D men playing extended minutes 3rd period we got back on level terms and had Flames on the back foot with Flyers unlucky not to win in regulation The Gaut again sat out much of the 3rd period stepping up when one of our players were stapled to boards, the Gaut was immense last night he's like a recking ball out there Officials again very poor with Halas showing his true bias colours again why he gets to ref our games I don't know but coaches were showing their frustration at poor decisions being made by Officials 2-2 at 60 minute mark in to OT Flames looked very nervous in OT didn't look like same team where Flyers looked very confident think the crowd got to Flames but no scoring both keepers playing blinders on to penalty shots not a fruitful year for Flyers however up steps Shane Owen 0 for 4 for Flames sharp shooters but goals scored by Cazzola and the Gaut sealed the deal Flyers fans ecstatic. Clean sweep against Flames this season think we are only team to achieve this On to MOM for me the Flames keeper was MOM for us The Gaut well deserved this he covered the ice like a rash is there a better two way power forward in the League? However there were others deserving of MOM Moore Pinkston Owen all worthy but we just have to raise our game We have now booked our playoff spot now tactics come in who do we want to get to Nottingham anybody but Devils and Giants would like to see us getting Clan no travel and they are on a slump Next weekend we have to go to Belfast before we play Clan which is disappointing but a good way to end regular season Injuries again spoiling things for us and no word on Stofflet

The only way to get a "proper" man of the match is to have someone knowledgable in the game choose the recipient. This voting on twitter makes it an absolute farce, assuming that it really is the votes cast which decide it.

Stepped up to the mark when Cazzola got boarded and fired up the team. My comment was meant to be more general.

Not complaining about the Goat getting MOM either, just trying to point out what a farce the MOM procedure is, very rarely has a D man been awarded it this season at home, a lot of hard work goes unnoticed, also voting for a MOM 10 mins into the third period doesn't make sense, a player can change a game easily in the last 10 mins, OT and PS making him worthy of MOM but might not even be nominated

The headlines are in general made by the goal scorers or more aggressive players. Every strong team is founded on the bread n butter stalwarts who do their jobs well week in week out. Theres less glamour in battling hard and blocking shots and playing calm passes but they are the backbone of the team. They may not get MOM recognition that they deserve but I bet those who do are acutely aware of the foundation of their successful performances.

And that is why selecting the MOM should not be a job for someone who knows the game rather than a popularity contest.

Good entertaining game to watch, I though that we just about deserved the W. We could have scored a few more goals but in many of the good breakaway chances that we had the player in possession took the wrong option shooting when a pass was on or passing when a shot was on.
Guildford were very stingy opposition and we could easily have lost a game like that on another night, best avoided in the play offs. Few excellent performances in the Flyers team hard to pick a MoM but I think Gauthier was deserving.
