We have seen the silky Flyers, we have seen the minging Flyers and that was the Fighting Flyers. Every man should take a bow for that.
It could be no other way. EIHL Nottingham came out fast and hard to wear us down and we looked it after a brilliant first period. EIHL Nottingham slowed down firstly because they were burst but probably more importantly, they were shipping chances and goals to us. It was the EIHL Panthers that crawled back to their bench 2nd period.
Crowder looked as though he was short of game practice but his shifts allowed Basaraba and Cazzola breathers. We go into the 2nd leg with everything to play for and it will be Cazzola's craft and Basaraba's finishing that could win it for us.
Marcus Basara has to take the plaudits for stepping up early. Watching his team mates be the victims of late hits he stopped that. But what about General McKenzie? That was an outstanding playoff performance.
With Bulmer that would have been a win and really still should have been. Fully expect EIHL Nottingham to come out hard and wear us down. Avoid that and I think we are the better hockey side and could win this.
Another tight game before it's time for Finucci time!

Excellent first period last night, both team began to run out of steam though, We would have won that with a couple extra bodies! Aarsan looked completely done in. However they looked tired as well, they’ve got the extra travel so there’s no reason why we can’t play another smart road game tonight and get the win.

No complaints about that effort by Flyers. Enjoyable game with a some decent hockey on show. By the third period Flyers were dead beat in the third, unsurprisingly given the injuries. No failures in Flyers lineup tonight including the defence unfairly criticised by bobdee. No idea how ref Brown missed the butt ending as he was only a few feet from it. Happy with the performance and the entertainment. A hard working effort and still in with a chance of getting to the Finals weekend. Andi, it was a Herculean performance last night when carrying players off the pace through no fault of their own as they were coming back from injuries. You cannot praise them enough. My criticism was for a fault we have had all season, even with a fit team, of giving up the puck in our D zone. It really hurt us last night. Cannot criticize the effort in any way. Completely agree.
