I've always said TD shoots himself in the foot with each interview but last nights was a real howler, a new level that has taken my already low opinion to rock bottom. Any manager coach will defend his team rather than throw under a bus not sure if i'm misunderstanding this comment or not Zamboni, Dutes has thrown his brits under the bus plenty over the years and has always made a point of never doing the same to an import.

Just watched the interview again just to make sure I didn't get it wrong, Dutes openly states in relation to Barry and Jordan "gone are the days when you are aloud to come in and play yourself into shape and thats not just Barry i'm talking about'.
Interviewer asks the question at 3.20 about Barry, thats a senior pro with 550 EIHL games under his belt. I struggle to grasp that he has turned up unfit and not ready for this season.

To be honest no problem with the interview but both Mackenzie and Buesa are not fit you can see that FIA crowd an easy nut to crack get the first goal get the crowd fired up a few hits the Belfast Nottingham game earlier in season That's the standard Read Facebook comments on it (even check out the ones from the game result) or check out twitter. Fans former players all calling him out for his comments especially around Bari. Folk are openly saying enough is enough. It’s not just a few folk moaning it’s folk who have openly supported Todd up until now calling for changes. Just under 1400 for a Saturday night Flyers game. Fans are making their feelings clear. People don’t want to watch dull boring hockey with little effort. They really don’t want to hear a coach yet again blame Brits as he can’t bring himself to call out imports. He is done and needs removed. The club is dying on his watch! To survive, this club has to begin showing loyalty and allegiance to the fans who pay their money and come in the door rather than to a, at best second-rate coach who is strangling us. Give us a decent product on the ice please.

I’ve defended Todd more often than not but I lost a lot of respect for him last night.
Let’s be clear here - about 10 fans booed at the end of the 2nd. To then say he’d told his players they were ‘on an island’ was pretty unforgivable. The fans were excellent in that 3rd period when the team finally started digging in and they generally are.
Digging out the 3 Brits for not being good enough to take ‘that slot’ was deplorable. As a fan I’d rather watch Bari McKenzie having an off night than a lot of import forwards. Buesa has been excellent last season and Chad Smith has shown incredible loyalty to the club. They all deserve more than to be fighting for one a slot between them.
As far as the game itself goes - utterly insulting to tell everyone that was there that their eyes were deceiving them. Flames were in total control of those first 2 periods without coming out of 2nd gear themselves.
There are families in that rink that have probably paid £70-£80 for their night. How they must feel is anyone’s guess- I’m sore enough at paying £18 for myself these past 2 Saturdays.

This is getting blown out of proportion He also said he had faith in all of them or they wouldn't be on the roster He didn't say they weren't good enough

These players are getting asked to play 120 minutes over a weekend alot off us fans are probably working forty or fifty hours a week maybe more to pay there wages and if the fans feel that they aren't seeing total effort from those players they have every reason to boo and the coach should remember that

Could not have said it better tbh ... but here was well more than 10 fans booing in my section alone. Great that we won tonight but Todd's arrogance in last nights interview was so sad imo

He was asked about Bari getting more ice time - he didn’t need to use it as a chance to mention 3 players by name. I’ve been a defender of Todd but have you ever heard him mention 3 imports by name when discussing where we’re falling short? The booing he also used as an excuse to have a go at the whole fan base - 99 percent of the crowd stuck with the players last night.

Coaches job to get 4 points this weekend Other than the Blaze they did better than rest Nothing wrong with showing a bit of passion and spine

Points come and go and if we are 10th,8th,7th,6th,9th,6th,5th ? doesn't make your Saturday night. It should be fun and enjoyable or why go ?

That may be so Zamboni but the words Todd used were downright unforgivable, The owners maybe happy with mediocrity and perhaps we may have to suffer that until statistics move the goalposts then the proverbial will hit the fan, no doubt you will still be saying at that point it wasn't Todds fault, keep on happy clapping.

Coaches job to get 4 points this weekend Other than the Blaze they did better than rest Nothing wrong with showing a bit of passion and spine Show passion and spine by throwing his Brits under the bus ( again) and slagging off his own teams fans while telling his players it’s them against us. That’s not a spine that’s him doing what he always does and makes sure the spotlight of failure isn’t on him.

4th in the league after 9 games is a good start, but you’ve conveniently missed the 4 points from 6 CC games there aswell. The fact is the hockey is brutal to watch and hundreds of people are walking away from the club because there’s zero entertainment at most games, the same failings every season from the owners and coaching staff, and the same feeble excuses from TD every year, his times up and until he leaves numbers will continue to dwindle and the club won’t be in a financial state to improve the on ice product. I do admire you for sticking by your man but facts are facts, barely anyone cares anymore and people don’t go. What would you prefer... keep Todd, product doesn’t improve, crowds continue to drop and then eventually the club falls out the league OR new coach, new ideas, new style of play and at least a little hope going forward, the club will drop out of the league under TD in my opinion.
