2-4 with one minute forty to play. Will the Belfast player who got the penalty for spearing be banned on Wednesday?

No, not unless Fife reported it and wanted it looked into I don’t think, which given there was no injury, I can’t see happening

Good first period performance with Flyers matching Giants and 1-1 was fair after 20 minutes. Laakkonen with the finish after neat passes from Phillips and C Lawrence.
Second was all Belfast. Outskated outpassed and outscored Flyers. Flyers made very few chances in the second and could have went in even further behind.
A 5 on 3 powerplay including a 5+game for spearing led to Flyers getting one back with 100 seconds left through Nault. Pulled Owen again in the last half minute and lost an empty netter.
Overall Giants were a much better team and Flyers were only in the game for the first period.
Not confident for a win on Wednesday but never say never.

Similar to Sheffield, I think Belfast can find another gear when they have to and teams like us can't cope with them when they do. First period was very even and competitive but we got blown away in the second. We came back in to it in the third but too little, too late. The referees were poor for both sides. A lot of soft penalties in the game. Then the one genuinely bad hit in the game got missed. Kivihlati gets hit from behind in to the boards then to compound missing that, they give C. Lawrence a really soft charging penalty a couple of minutes later. I am not holding out too much hope for the final but I was not holding out much hope of even getting there when we went 3-0 down in the first period in Sheffield in the semi. So you just never know.

That just sums us up to Marcus of Queensbury if the roles had been reversed and a flyers player done that to a Belfast player and the refs had missed it you can guarantee the Belfast players would have went searching for retribution on the flyers player.where we just do nothing

What a bunch of snowflakes saying report it.as boschman says it should have been dealt with on the ice Is that like snowflakes in rugby when people get cited by clubs for violent conduct? Rugby is well known for being soft afterall. Disnae matter if you think someone should have taken it into there own hands or not, clubs can ask for a review of something they feel refs missed. Lots of clubs do it. It doesn't make anyone soft, it just the rules. I'd like to see guys step up and defend there teammates after dirty plays, but not if it's gonna leave the team short-handed. No point in losing 2 powerplay goals on a major penalty. And even if they did batter someone, the club should still request a review.

At least it sends out a message that your not going to get pushed around in your own rink For sure and I'm not disagreeing. But I don't get why flyers shouldn't do that as well as asking for a review. And I don't see why saying the team should ask for a review makes anybody a "snowflake".

It makes a mockery of having to go to the expense of having four officials on the ice and every one of them misses an incident like that.
