Finchy is right rre the major penalties. Hogg DID hi-stix the player - and as for Pitton piling it, someone please get a grip of him and tell him these majors only hurt the team. A dumb move - and not the first time he's done it.
Other than that Flyers were streets ahead of a truly rank rotten Caps outfit. The game was awful - God knows how Edinburgh fans can sit and watch this every Sunday! But, a big win and one the Fife dressing room will welcome. Now, do it again tomorrow and the weekend naysayers shall be back in their box ...!

Probably a score to settle from old years night. Chris pointed to the end of his stick then stuck it in to Holekos face. For some reason Holeko to exception to it!! Wonder why

Cowan did have an ok game and all the fans abusing him when the big penalties were called should be embarrassed. If you're looking for someone to blame it should be Kris Hogg- what exactly was he thinking or trying to prove? Absolutely idiotic and we'd be raging if an opponent did that to a Flyers player. A good performance and an easy win, but absolutely needless major penalties to 2 of our better players. Something must have happened for him to do that. Hogg's not normally the type to do something like that. He took exception to the challenge just before the whistle which wasn't a huge deal at 7-1 up. There's no excuse for what he did and he was probably frustrated at his own performance. If you think you have to sort someone out you just don't put your stick in his face. We complain about Riopel and his sneaky slashes so we can't defend Hogg. To be honest with you I've seen Hogg being a bit reckless with his stick before and I hate when players do that. I've been slating the southern teams all season for things like that and I think there no excuse.

I don't mind a bit of stickwork you need a bit of needle in the game. As long as you don't take it to the extreme like Kelsey Wilson.

Seriously? If the roles had been reversed Flyers fans would be apoplectic! What a ridiculous way to end up with 2 major pens! What's wrong with settling it like men?

Comfortable win against a very poor Edinburgh side but disappointed with both Hogg and Pitton for their actions near the end when 7-1 up. As Finchy says if a player from a Southern team did what Hogg done then we would be going crazy and rightly so. As for Pitton, if you want a fight then take one of the free men on the ice don't be silly and go third man in.

I wasn't there tonight so can't comment on Hogger's actions was more referring to the times Ive seen him give a wee love tap. Teams give it out and you have to meet fire with fire. I agree though his stick shouldn't have been near the guys face. I don't see what the problem is with the majors it's not as though they got match penalties and the game was beyond doubt. I wish we were a lot more physical as I don't think teams in this conference can live with an intense physical brand of hockey. For instance, apparently the Steelers were taking the utter mick out of the Stars players on Wednesday callimg them soft etc.

I have more of a problem with Jason Pitton coming steaming in and being third man in, absolutley no need for that with the game well won. Flyers won with considerable ease tonight without having to truly exert ourselves over a very poor Caps team. We did get most of the breaks but then that usually happens with the big teams . We were never really under any pressure from Caps although they came out with more purpose at the start of the second but once we had weathered that there was no fight, passion or intensity left in the Caps and a relatively routine win for Flyers that takes us above Dundee into 7th tonight and it also gives us as many wins in regulation time as Coventry

Have to agree two stupid needless penalties. Players have to be disciplined. If we were losing 7:1 I would have understood it more.

Also noticed that Dobron appeared to be having on ice arguments with Jarolin and Hartman and didn't look a happy bunny at all

Hogg was a silly boy, the red mist must have descended from the hit into the boards just prior. He was either telling him to stop waving his stick around or threatening with the blade of his stick under Holeckos visor.
Bit of a bonehead play if you ask me. Holecko lost it, quite rightly and dropped the gloves. Pitton came in from behind to stick up for his team mate. Didn't see what happened with Caister. Hogg isn't normally like that so not sure if it was afters from the previous challenge or not!
I don't agree that we dominated completely, in the first period there was a bit of concerted pressure on our end and we got the breaks. We were clinical for a change and that's why we went in 3-0 up. It was Only later in the game when we pulled away, their heads went down and we dominated. Bryan still had a good few saves to make when we tired at times due to our D having long shifts.
It's great to see us get the bounces and score on some of the chances we have been creating. I thought the third line did exceptionally well last night also!

Can't blame McIntyre I have no idea what Pitton was thinking but it was not sticking up for his team mate. Hogg put his blade under Holecko's visor and the Caps player lashed out (never seen him do that before he seems a good guy) Hogg deserved whatever he had coming, putting your blade purposely in someone's face is something only an idiot would do. Very embarassing for him and Pitton. Glad Holecko made mincemeat of him for the 5 seconds before the 3rd man in, will perhaps make him act a bit more professionally in future.

I wouldn't have said that was a 7-1 game. Thought caps were unlucky on some of the breaks and looked quite threatening with a bit of momentum. They just couldn't break through our D, Jeff is outstanding at judging passes and would be my first signing for next year.
Once we get into it we can really control a game. Well played last night but hope this doesn't go to our head. Dundee are not to be taking lightly, it'll be a tough game tonight but we can do it.
