Boy we got out of jail there tonight.
For two periods Cardiff were excellent and had us running around for quite a lot of the time.
Blair was excellent, some fantastic saves by him and there was nothing he could do about any of the goals he conceeded. He rode his luck in the shoot out though as he gave a lot of room on his stick side and if McRae had went down Blairs glove side and cut across on Devils third penalty shot instead of going down his stick side then Devils would have had both points.
But you take a point from that tonight if you are the Flyers and get the bonus of the extra point and with the other results from tonight it has been a good night

Flyers got out of jail big time, had we lost the penalty shoot out the vibe would be very downbeat! Cardiff played an effective game, we were all over the place with some shockin pps, reminded me of that game against clan recently. Blair did well but carrieavu was the real mom he was on fire! Todd has been really effective in the last few games but he was one of several who didnt show up tonight. Small squad coming back to bite us.....but its our own fault.

It was great to see Blair get some ice time, but must agree he never caught the puck when Pitton probably would and looked a bit nervous at times, however I put this down to lack of playing. Zach would also have been my choice as MOM, In the end we were lucky to get 2 points but I'd take them anyway they come. the big matches for us are tonight and tuesday where I think we need to step up a gear from last night. overall Happy with the 2 points.

By Blair being excellent I meant for someone who hasn't had any ice time this season to be thrown in for 45 mins he did everything that was expected of him, pulled off three or four excellent saves and got us the win.
We know that Blair has talent and he is very much a different kind of goalie from Bryan style wise and yes he looked nervous and yes he has things he needs work with but he wasn't at fault for any of the goals IMO.
One question about the game though.
On Cardiffs first goal, Kyle was sitting the penalty and Jeff was called for hooking on a delayed penalty. Does the goal wipe out the penalty on Kyle or the delayed penalty on Jeff? People around me thought it should wipe the delayed call and Kyle should have remained in the box but I think that Wilson got it right and the Powerplay goal wipes Kyles penalty and Jeff still has to sit his delayed call

Im sure its the first penalty that goes and the delayed starts after the goal.

Penalties are worked out on the clock as to the time they went on so Kyle comes on first, Wilson was correct. Its amazing and embarassing at times when supporters shout about rules when they obviously have not studied them including the most basic ones like Delay of the game when a puck goes out the playing area but equally so with the amount of off-sides the linesmen missed last night....one of which led to a Cardiff goal.

I thought playing 4 forwards on the powerplay caused problems as the dman was the only one between a breakaway. A few times they played a puck round the boards for a dman on the point only to find nobody there. The shg was an example of getting caught. We need to defend from the front much better tonight or we will lose.

i thought the announcer got it wrong lastnight giving bobby the delay of game when blair appeared to clear the puck straight out at start of second, but on official gamesheet, bobby has been given the penalty, anyone want to explain that one? oh and apologies to the anouncer

Was definitely Blair who shot the puck over the boards, with what I believe was his very first touch. As flyer24 points out it was just Wilson being his useless self!

how none of the stripeys saw that was blair is staggering, though i guess it explains the ridiculous delay call if he thought it was bobby, all in all though, i'd describe that incident as insanity gone mad. actually thought wilson didn't have too bad a game lastnight, comparatively speaking, and also credit to cardiff for not gooning it up when they were behind, oh and the hit on caister on the blue line was an absolute peach

the thing that get's me is that don't think i have ever seen a away team get called for that when they do it, but good game edge of thje seat stuff and nerve racking when it didn't need to be, well done to blair as well
