Not really. Its already on there and its nowhere near certain who it is that has asked to join, especially given that Cardiff are undergoing an ownership change and a lot of uncertainty atm. Also, this the Other Ice Hockey section of the forum. Just because you think the world revolves around Clan, doesn't mean others don't take interests in other leagues and what goes on in the rest of UKIH

I would say not really Ronnie, because believe it or not, Fife fans actually care about having systems in place for producing home grown talent and have an eye on ensuring that ice-hockey in the UK is viable long term. Unlike you lot who only seem to care about yourselves and the here and now.

I liked the idea if the crossover competition that the BNL and EIHL had during the final season of the BNL, but I can't see how a crossover competition of any sort would work in the UK, the gaps between leagues are too wide.
I think what is being suggested more recently of having and Elite development league is the best way forward, to have an under 20's league could have significant impact on producing better British players who can see clear progression to the top league in the uk and potentially open up doors to Europe.

Posts don't necessarily reflect interest. Ever see people on the forums who've been signed up for ages but have like 3 posts? Yeah? Because a lot of people read things and simply don't reply. I don't reply to most threads on this forum, but doesn't mean I don't still have a glance through. But guess what, other than one thread, most threads in this section seem to get no replies or 1 at most, so it seems no thread gets a 'flood of posts' even when it's EIHL related. Not going to bother replying to you again, if you want to be in your little Clan bubble, by all means do, but don't jump on others for posting things about 'Other Ice Hockey' in the 'Other Ice Hockey' section.

I agree. I actually the proposal for the Cup structure between NIHL and EPL where EPL teams would be required to use u21s instead of imports for the games against the NIHL sides. It would give opportunity for those in the u20 league to really put themselves in the shop windows of EPL and NIHL coaches.

What you two think of David Simms thoughts on the proposed U20 league - to free up ice time something has to give - perhaps ice time of reccie teams?

Pretty much what I thought. Two of you now, is that a quorum? What you two think of David Simms thoughts on the proposed U20 league - to free up ice time something has to give - perhaps ice time of reccie teams? As always they are ludicrous. Most rec teams, like mine, do our training at 11:15pm on a Friday night and it is our only ice slot of the week. Can you really, honestly, see a bunch of 18-20 year olds giving up their Friday nights to train? If they require more than the one ice slot, then taking time off rec teams won't do anything. In other words, as usual, it was nothing more than a typical Simmsy comment that has no purpose other than to ruffle feathers.

Obviously not training at Kirkcaldy then - as that is when the Kirkcaldy U20s train - followed by the Kestrels - So they do give up their Friday nights!
