This is a six period Hockey game Flyers performed well they were the better team on the night out shot the league champs. Unice kept them in the game but it looked like he was toiling towards the end hopefully he will wake up tomorrow and declare himself unable to play. Same score line as last week against Clan and again a hot Goalie being the difference Good to see the officials letting the game flow and I hope Darnell is in charge tomorrow. He spoke to both Coaches two or three times about the shenanigans in front of net after the whistle. Two good games in a row at FIA but we just come up short, maybe lady luck will be on our side tomorrow for a change Also I think that was a few of the guys saying goodbye tonight end of another era lets hope they go on tomorrow in to finals weekend. Really proud of the guys tonight they gave their all I noticed Reber and Haines were clapping and stayed in the ice longer- my fave 2 players too. Hope we are just over-analysing but I highly doubt either one will stay.

Certainly looked like a farewell gesture, i thought Flyers deserved a win and have to say it will take a super human effort to win in Sheffield but they have played very well away at times this year, we are looking for the fat lady now. Must mention the fact that Niko was a candidate for mom tonight as well in my opinion, he has been a consistent performer since his arrival (unlike some of the STARS in the side) and a model player regards the fans.

I saw Nice guy Ali interviewing Simmsy after the game wonder what he thought of it and the performance of his favourite Scottish team.

I think the underdog mentality suits us..we seem to be able to play freer away from home with less expectation and pressure..everytime we get the puck in our D zone the big whooosh goes up and we expect a goal or at least a good chance..such is the game though i suppose

We are still well in this tie, but that late goal hasn't helped us.
What a pace the game was played at, no one had time to settle on the puck all night. Milam was top performer, Gunny skated hard tonight as well. Lots of chances, augers well for tomorrow night.
Sheffield were poor I thought but looked like they had something in hand.

It didn't look like just Reber and Haines saying goodbye last night but also Lukacevic, Fulton and Regan appeared to be thanking the fans and saying goodbye

Excellent game of hockey.
Sheffield have been the best team to come to Kirkcaldy all season and we matched the league champions in every respect.
I thought that at the end of the second that we looked absolutely gassed and that Steelers would come out and score two or three more and put the tie to bed but full credit to Flyers for that third period effort and we don't deserve to be going to Sheffield a goal down.
How much panic was there in the Flyers in the lead up to Steelers first goal? The more we couldn't get the puck out of our zone the more desperate we became to get it out and we certainly had plenty of opportunity to get it out.
Unice certainly kept Steelers in it with some fantastic saves.
Also full credit to the stripeys for not calling a penalty all night but if that had been Craig on his own reffing there would have been some. Nickerson got away with two punches to the face, he got a 10 min misconduct for less last weekend.
We wanted to be in the tie going to Sheffield, we are in it but do we have another 60 mins a very high tempo left in our legs? Yes we are a goal down but we don't need to go gung-ho right from the off. Still no pressure on us and we can be nice and relaxed and just play our game and see where it takes us.
Milam, Haines, Reber, Lukacevic even though it looks like he is injured and Fleming were all excellent but where has that Milam performance been all season as he was outstanding

My two MOM choices would've been Nicker and NIKO. I know a lot of you will question this so allow to give my reason..
Nickerson, EVERY single pass he made tonight went tape to tape to a team-mate. His outlet passing was great tonight. Yes, he might not be the fastest skater, but on the ice he certainly made a case for being the best passer of the puck tonight.
NIKO, little, if any mistakes from the wee man tonight, very solid d-man. I always thought Haines was the best dman we had, not last night, NIKO was. Always there to clear any loose pucks and one on one he won mostly every battle. Some good hits too.
Special mention goes to the officials tonight too. A couple of calls could've been made from either side and Darnell let the game flow and when he was asked on Twitter about the game, he said that's how playoff hockey should be. I can't agree more.
