Seriously- who the heck has this incredibly difficult task of tweeting on the Flyers official twitter account and updating the Facebook page? I've heard people says it's that jack of all Flyers trades DJ Ali, but even more worryingly I've heard it's the web-master who apparently is a teacher!!! Lordy me! Taking away the spelling, grammar, failure to take into account the fans mood etc etc., this Ingolstadt thing is just another in a long line of embarrassing misinformed gaffes. Remember when they wished our Canadian followers a Happy Thanksgiving on the U.S. Thanksgiving Day? Or when they tweeted that the ref was turning a game into a 'farse'? Jesus- as least spell farce correctly. Is there seriously nobody at the club who notices these things and thinks strongly enough about it to make a change? I really thought naming fans on Facebook regarding season ticket applications should have been the last straw. If your going to slag someone else spelling or grammar get you own correct Jesus as least spell farce correctly Difference is Finchy is not a club spokesman, releasing media that will be seen by officials and fans of the rest of the club's in the league, and will base an opinion of our professionalism through it.

I think one of the problems with the club's use of social media (and there are many, unfortunately) is that there are simply too many people sharing the SM account. When you think about it, there are probably at least 4 different people posting from one Facebook/Twitter account - whoever covers the general posts (countdowns, pushing ticket sales etc.), Pam who is pushing player sponsorship, Lynn who posts details regarding the Travel Club and Ali/Ross who posts about FlyersTV. The problem with this is that each person has a different writing style & punctuation standards therefore the post output looks extremely fragmented to fans. It's not a difficult problem to solve with the use of the social media management tools (for example Hootsuite which would allow someone with good punctuation to revise all scheduled posts before they are posted) and some common sense (e.g, if most of the posts follow a certain format, you would post in line with said format). It's not rocket science, but for some reason the Flyers seem to drag their feet when it comes to solving problems, especially regarding their use of social media

Typos on main website. The article about mascots and game night presentation packages is fine (http://fifeflyers.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=569&Itemid=145) .... BUT .... the Flash animation on main page has the article spelled "PACAKGES".

Miss out the 'Happy Monday' etc and there's your spaces right there for a professional looking tweet.

But the facebook and twitter accs mirror each other (another misunderstanding of the media by the Flyers reps). Believe me, I'm one of the biggest critics of their PR efforts but when you criticise everything the shutters come down and seige mentality kicks in. Pick your fights and change can be made as is hopefully showing now in the match night presentation.
