cracking game, kind of felt sorry for their keeper, coventrys defence left a lot to be desired apart from a small spell in the first they were never reallyi in that game. ned was quiet and dropped a line half way through the game

Never seen a Flyers team chase down the puck and hassle a team as much as they did tonight.Impressed with every player ,could be a bit scary at times with the goalie, but hey.Itl be exciting.Dorr laughing in their enforcers face was priceless.Dont think itl be as easy down there, but play lke that every game and could be a good season.!!!!

Fantastic game, one in which Flyers completely dominated and could have easily had double figures. What an effort, we were on their case from start to finish, Coventry were just overwhelmed.
Great start to the season. Only positives, everyone of us must have went home tonight after the game more than happy

Wow! Where do you start with that performance.
We were relentless all night, never stopped forechecking and making them make mistakes in their own end and coughing up the puck on the blue line and our forwards worked both ends of the ice all night and didn't ease up even when they could have leading by 5 and 6. We totally outworked the play off champions all over the ice and made them look incredibly ordinary, even when they tried to get a lot more physical with us through Lawrence and Valabik it didn't work and I didn't notice Lauzon or Tanaka all night-guys that caused us problems nearly every game last season.
To finally get the monkey off our back that is Stewart says a lot as well. We got under both his skin and the Blaze as a whole, there were times last night that they didn't have a clue what to do with us and this is a team that is going to be playing in Europe later this season. The only time Blaze caused us any problems was when they had Fisher on their third line matching up against our third
It is pretty hard to single out any one player as that was a team performance and we finally have three very good lines but we need to practice our 3 on zero more :-)
It is only one game but really impressed with a team that is only going to get better and better and it is going to take hard work and a full 60 minute effort from others to beat us but that last night was a statement from the Flyers and if we see that effort and work rate every week in the barn then it is going to be a fun season

Agree with all that has been said. I can't recall a game where we so completely dominated and out-played a team. Stewart is obviously a top class goalie yet there was nothing he could have done about any of the goals, which shows they were top quality finishes. In fact he made at least two saves he had no right in making. Also have to give credit where it is due to Craig, I thought he had a decent game, missed a couple of calls but overall he was pretty good.

Well, it's taken all of 3:46 of the season for our first running repairs on the goal moorings as the maintenance crew take to the ice. Some things never change. The goal moorings were fine during warm-up at Cafe end. Then I watched the young lad on ice-staff remove the goals for zamboni, he had 2 go's at lifting net off & then dunted it off damaging the ice, hence the delays. The most annoying thing was he knew he'd done it.

Fantastic from the flyers. I said in a previous post before we potentially have the best two forward lines we have had in the the EIHL. I must give credit to Todd and Danny so far in terms of recruitment, every guy plays for the jersey and doesn't give up, even when we're 6 nil up in the final 5 mins, we were looking for a seventh.
Which kinda brings me to my next point, and I hate to be this guy, especially after a win like last night. But, a Heros welcome for Ned?... NED? A guy that we wouldn't know would turn up each night, and he certainly didn't last night. A guy that if things didn't go his way, would go missing or just have his wee hissy fit. He got a standing O and his song. We could maybe put it down due to the emphatic win we had last night, we were all in a great mood. But flyers fans cheer Ned and Boo Nicker out the building!? That doesn't sit right with me.
Anyways, a great win for us last night and feeling very optimistic for next weekend. COYF!

I kind of agree, but what annoyed me about Nicker was that he looked in great shape playing for Belfast but for us he had obviously been scoffing the fish suppers without a care in the world! Getting himself in shape for Belfast but not for us was disrespectful as far as I am concerned. As for Ned he was mostly terrible last season but he was beyond magnificent the second half of 13/14 and I for one am certainly grateful for that. When he retires and looks back over his career, I have to think that he'll have some regret about last season with the Flyers. He has amazing ability and could have been a cult hero in Kirkcaldy for a very long time.

He has amazing ability and could have been a cult hero in Kirkcaldy for a very long time. This debate could drag on forever, how much are the club to blame for sticking with a guy that was way out of shape, did they push him enough? Did they even care? Blame lies on both parties. In or out of shape though Nickerson fought for Fife whenever required, he cared and you could see that so the donkey chants and booing were out Of order. Lukacevic we all know was hot and cold but he'll be that throughout his whole career that's why he's at this level. I think they both were good players for the club though and both should in their first return received what Ned did last night, it's over now though and looking forward we may have a lot bigger and better things to be excited about this year, I'm glad they've made their return and it's over now.

Maybe the ovation Ned got was in reaction to many fans realising how they embarrassed themselves with how they dealt with Matt.
