It will be interesting to hear what Thompson has to say about tonight Great effort from the guys Steelers were there for taking tonight but for two mistakes who knows what could have happened We just lacked that we bit of sharpness in front of net tonight also We have a few more League games against them nothing to fear

That really is some achievement running that team so close. I thought Steelers were outstanding in the first leg.
Unlucky boys but at least that's 3 good road performances on the bounce.

Damage done at the barn last week, a great effort none the less Same story as last year essentially disappointing but sounds like a great effort from the team. If only we could get that effort level every game.

2 mistakes at the back cost us that tie, Although we do seem to make more mistakes than other teams, they do make mistakes as well, Steelers gifted us our second goal in the home game.

2 mistakes at the back cost us that tie, Although we do seem to make more mistakes than other teams, they do make mistakes as well, Steelers gifted us our second goal in the home game. Point well made and Gunny's goal in the first leg was the first thing I thought off. Some sports fans have this crazy logic that if their team wins a game 4-3 and gives up a couple of bad goals that if they hadn't lost those 2 bad goals the game would have finished 4-1!! Hundreds of things happen in a game that can change the overall outcome because the pattern of the game changes whenever something goes one way or the other. If Rioux hadn't made that terrible pass that cost us the second goal then there wouldn't have been the face off at centre ice that guess what.... led to Rioux scoring a beauty at the other end!! So basically if he hadn't made the mistake he wouldn't have scored that goal!! This is British hockey- mistakes are made all the time. Sometimes goals are scored after one- usually they aren't. There's a comment on this thread about Tommy's mistake that led to Sheffield's first goal with 50 minutes still to play being more or less the difference!! That logic is utterly crazy. If they hadn't scored that goal who's to say they wouldnt have scored one a few seconds later? You just don't know, buts there's a fair chance Steelers would have scored the next goal in the game. Sheffield beat us because 9 times out of 10 the most talented team will win over 120 minutes. They made less mistakes than us because they have better players. For Flyers to run a good team so close was a great effort.
