Flyers advertising for average sized, skilled and (slightly) gritty players for next season.

No surprise tbh, despite winning the conference I would say the lack of appearances at the Playoff finals has cost him.

Apart from the fact people don't like him because of his attitude sometimes, straight choice based on his coaching ability and what we've seen in the last 4 years from them compared to us would anyone take him over Todd?

On a seriousness note, the difference in expectation is significant. Ryan was dismissed for failure ultimately, that failure is....
Gardiner Champions every year bar 1 Missing out on the EIHL Title by margines of 1 and 5 points I believe A Champions League Qualification
We can only dream of that sadly. This year we were so far off the pace in Challenge Cup & Conference, it's border line embarrassing.
If Flyers were to win the Gardiner, or achieve any of the above, it would be treated as euphoric success. Reality, of course you want to win it, but it's the least important of any in the league set-up as it stands.
That's the difference between the clubs. They measure success, and do what's needed, we just paddle along quite happily

Personally no, totally lost any respect for him for the Chris Frank eye gouging lies, totally classless trying to put that label on a fellow hockey man. His budget would be a huge slice bigger than Fifes, a couple of his big name signings would take a huge chunk of flyers budget, allowed to make changes when and if required...All things considered a huge underachiever.

They have gotten results, and he has built good teams, but a classless guy. Sure a lot of Clan fans will be happy to see him go.

I can see Jackman being new head coach at clan, with a Brooks as player assistant One of the reasons for him retiring is to be with his family. So I can't see him leaving them to coach the Clan.

Listen to the podcast from the purple army guys, Finner talk's about doing all of that to build the rivalry between the teams as they really needed a proper rival. He also states that their budget was 6th in the league which i would say puts it very close to what we were spending. They had a proper full time squad not just imports. As for changes he mentions they only let go 3 imports during his time there. Which surprised me as I thought he had done more than that but it appears to be only Bruton Ulmer and Hendrikx that were moved on. Bruton was obviously a dressing room issue, Ulmer just didnt work out. Hendrikx was one I would say he got wrong. Thats not a bad record over 4 seasons. We have let go the same number of players during that same time frame (if you include Follmer its one more). Seriously listen to his interview on the podcast it gives a great insight into how much some of these guys do as "coaches". If we were to stay in the EIHL and needed a new coach we would be mad not to make him an offer.

People hate him purely because he's been at Clan, he's one of those guys you'd love alongside you but hate across from you.
