Trouble is...why train up and invest in a lot of our juniors when in reality, this is an import driven league, there is no room on the team for a lot of locals...would there be any more than 2 or 3 getting regular ice time. No this is now a 4 line league where teams need strong british players to give you the chance to compete for trophies. Nothing stopping you having 10/12/15 Brits in your team. That was how we had so much success in the BNL days.

Fife make more than enough to run a full pro team, paying for that would eat into Tam's profit margins though.

I do believe Tam takes his cut every week, but I also believe the club is nowhere as rich as a lot of people think ( probably due to mismanagement and lack of vision). There is also at this time no players we can make up a fourth line of Brits from. There is simply not 6 or 7 elite ready locals ready to play regular shifts.

If the club does generate this so called "good" money then it clearly doesn't go back into the club or the rink. Non full time brits suspect signings, no upgrades or fixes inside and outside arena, and from what the rumors are saying is that we are cutting the budget even more this coming season. More single guys to share apartments and cut down on housing and cars(more single guys in society and kitty's)
We are no where near the big arena budgets regardless how much money we think tam rakes in. Some seem to think so but it clearly shows we aren't , thommo talks about all this staff he has at his disposal , strength guy, trainers, equipment guys, etc. we have couple locals doing it as volunteers and couple free pints. Club will never be at that kind of level especially with current ownership. You can get close even with smaller budgets but if there is no drive to get get better or do those things then we will never be near that level.

They're petrified of moving the club forward, happy with minimum effort raking it in

Too many people are still thinking Small Team Scenario .....well it didn't stop Coventry and Cardiff getting on the top rung and they are not any bigger a club than Fife. The blame lies firmly on Tom Muirs shoulders the potential is there to fill that rink and have a competing team on the ice....it aint rocket science or impossible but straight away before a puck is dropped this season the lack of ambition comes directly from the owner with Todd being appointed Head Coach....just another puppet with T Muir plucking his strings.

I'll be shocked if this isn't the last season we see the Flyers in the Elite. Seems the owners are just trolling the fans now. Appointing Todd, no signing announcements, weekly announcements about players leaving. Its all becoming a bit of a joke now.

They were never pulling out of the league and are now committed to this new competition over the next 4 seasons.

Its time Muir took a step back. Give Todd a budget, if he is to be coach, and let him, and a team sort out the players. Muir is a dinosaur, with no intention of modernising the club, it's his baw, end off, he could not care less about the fans, or competing. Now that might be wrong of course, but that's certainly how it comes across.

Davie Fife Flyers are still a toy, if the supporters had the same attitude the club would have been gone long ago, instead of settling for mediocrity they should be striving to fill the building and actually make it that Fortress we sometimes hear about, a building where opposing teams hate to visit, the ingredients are there but will never happen until the owner smells the coffee as they say and has a clear-out of most of the off ice staff.

Could not agree more, although, some of the staff I suspect have very little say in what goes on. The key simple CRITICAL change is Tom needs to let go. Everything flows through him, and there is absolutely no need for it, providing of course, he trusts those he has appointed.

We should all give the first game a miss and got to the kestrels first game. Might give tam a wake up call to not treat the fans like they do. A decent crowd for them even for one game would boost there club no end. Might even force him to give an interview if he thought that was going to be the case.

He'd simply blame the fans for any budget cut. The man cares not a jot about the fans
