not sure on anyone elses opinion, but it seems to me like mr muir has telt the coaches I pay for 14-16 imports and you will play every night till they drop only then can the brits get a game, there is also the fact that they refuse to pay the brits a proper wage that actually tells me what they really think of them. I have said to a few people this year If had been beattie I would have told them where to ram it whats the point sitting on the bench every night not getting any ice time that is not helping , learning or making players better in game situations. So you think we should have played Beatie...fact is we should never have signed him

Dirty Lyle.
Be interested to hear why you think Flyers shouldn't have signed Beattie, he is a local lad that just wants to play for his home town team and that's something we should be aspiring too if they have the talent. What's your opinion on Scoon for that matter then?

Thanks for the updates guys. Surprise result being last game out of three and short of imports. Well done Flyers.

TD has shown consistently that he has little or no faith in our Brits. Trusted to play for a shift or two only in the last few minutes of a dead game or used out of necessity in times of dire injuries. If I was Beattie I would be soul destroyed after this season.

What's your opinion on Scoon for that matter then? Simple really he is no better than what we had. He has been elite for a few seasons now and spent most of it on the bench. His points total is below most of our Brit forwards we have iced in our elite time. Why sign someone who will not improve your team, and nothing against him but looking at his lack of ice time it was a mistake signing him. Scoon...nothing against him but again does not improve the team, and should not really be icing elite. I think the problem is we won't pay the going rate for real elite level Brit forwards so we have what we have, quite sure Smith will break the mould as he does seem to be streets ahead of both the aforementioned.

Flyers have given Scoon nearly seven years to show his worth in the EIHL and it's very obvious that something other than merit gets him a place on the roster, I think Beattie should get more ice time to give him a chance to be assessed, Smith is a genuine prospect and should have seen a lot more ice time at Edinburgh than he did, coaches say he is a kid and his body is still developing so can't be put out against the big boys ...what about the likes of Levesque at Dundee and plenty other smaller guys we have seen through the years.
I was told by someone in the system that Flyers had tried to sign better quality brits but they did not want to come because the club owners had no ambition and were quite happy to make up the league numbers so no medals / trophies .....no thanks.

I was actually told that money was not an obstacle but the fact is that top end Brits look down on any team on the East Coast of Scotland, what a turn around from the days when every club wanted players from our neck of the woods, that is something I think TD is directly responsible for regards Fife hockey players.
