Match penalty is automatic review, so may be downgraded, or suspension added. Should know before Tuesdays game

You either get 5+ game or match and Scoon sat his 5 minutes therefore it should be a game although it wasn’t the only time tonight they didn’t follow the correct penalty protocol.

Nope it's a 5 plus match...sure under iihf rules all slew foot penalties are recorded as match penalties. A 5 plus game is not an option.

You are correct about slew footing being automatic match penalty so therefore Scoon should not have sat 5 minutes as there is no such penalty as a 5+ match as far iihf rule book states. My other half is a referee so I just looked up his rule book.

Have another look at your other half’s rule book and you will find it.

I was quoting from the slew footing penalty rather than minor and major penalties as a whole. Everyday is a school day 😊

Slew Footing carries a Match penalty indicated to the time keeper as a pat on the top of the head followed by an automatic 5 minute penalty to the offending team and an exit from the game for the receiving player. I didn't think Heelis's action required the punishment given so hopefully a review will confirm that. I really thought the standard of refereeing was awful tonight especially Brown although Neil Wilson's too many men call with the goalie out the net was an absolute howler, perhaps somebody on the Flyers bench should be more competent with the rule book as the resulting face off was taken from the wrong place, it should have been at centre ice not in the Flyers zone.

there was no way it looked like slew footing and further more neil Wilson got show up for the plonker he is calling to many men on Dundee when they were on the pp and pulled the goalie for an extra skater what a ding.

Neil Wilson is the most corrupt official in the league, he is also to old and too slow, he should have gave up years ago.but as long as the refs get decent money and nothing is done to replace them, then this is what we will have I am afraid. The officiating was that bad last night, Mr calm and inoffensive Dutes has to have a long conversation with them at the end of the second period.

I can't agree on a couple of points here Dirty Lyle.
I know Neil Wilson personally and would not say he was corrupt or too old (much older guys in the NHL)
I would say he is a poor skater and having never played the game at any level actually has no feel for the sport he is officiating in, therein lies the problem, he doesn't know how hockey players / coaches think or play the game hence too many calls (unless it's a mid week game when refs want to get home at a decent hour.......something I have never agreed with, all games should be treated in the same manner)
Money for refs is less now due to the 4 man system, I would never grudge money for a ref I know how much of your time it takes up + lack of quality family time at week-ends. It was around a £1,000 for a refs kit a good few years ago so it's not cheap to get into the game however everybody is welcome and easy to get into the sport perhaps more people should try it.

Na Ronnie to me he is corrupt, I base that on the game a few weeks back when he blew when isles froze the puck (clearly blew to freeze play) a second or two later it then gets poked in and he points for the goal, saying that's why he blew...anyone who saw it clearly and including the players knew it (Iles went after him).Total lies which make him corrupt in my opinion. I don't have a problem with any ref as they have good games and bad but that was totally corrupt refereeing. Like you I gave refereeing a go (with Craig Dryburgh under tuition of Maxwell) but got bored really quickly, so understand that you have to be committed

I was at that game too and from section B could not see the puck frozen, next time I speak to Neil I will ask him that question, that's if he doesn't read my last post and takes the hump......lol.

Heelis's tussle on the boards was never slew footing, there should be no extra games tagged onto that.
Referee's corrupt, "having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain", I don't think so, incompetent at times maybe but corrupt no.

Sorry but lying makes him corrupt... personal gain, giving Braehead pp after pp untill they scored against mk...who benefits from an extra game for Scottish clubs..a lot of Milton Keynes fans asking that question
