It's imperative that we get off to a good start. If we can get an early goal and if Heelis and Isaacs can rub them up a bit they might just lose their discipline. Finnerty will be telling them to be physical but without the lunacy that sometimes comes from Springer and Rosehill. If Bloodoff is playing he can expect some rough treatment and Iles will need to be protected from them crashing the net, should he play. We should run a sweep for how many times Clemente will dislodge the nets on Saturday!

Staying out the penalty box is key, you know Clemente will try to slow the game down as much as possible. The crowd will be a big help, perhaps the people with the drums will actually start chants and not just join in after one starts as seems to have been the norm this year and get the Auld Barn Rockin.

I hope for a huge crowd and a great (hostile) atmosphere with Flyers coming out off the blocks hard and fast. The more we can get on the Storm's backs the better.
I hope we can cheer the team onto a decent lead to take down south for the second leg.
Come on you Flyers!

Yep we all know that Fannerty hates Fife when it's full and as hostile as it can get, which it will be on Saturday, and that both him and his teams lose all discipline when the crowd gets at him. So the home crowd will be a big factor on Saturday to get right under his and his teams skin.
We also need two very strong referees so that Fannerty can't try and control the game through them, two guys with backbones to put the idiot in his place and let him know who is in charge

ha ha ha strong refs bet it's pavel and toby or toby and Wilson all flyers haters There are only two games on Saturday night, us and Sheffield. Absolutely no reason why we should just be limited to a mixture of those three idiots who don't have a backbone between them and will let Fannerty bully them

logistics Harlan they are closer and will cost less than sending an English ref up Toby is a strong referee,he decides and will stand by his decision.. Wilson is as corrupt as they come and no one can guess what his plans will be. Would happily settle for Toby and Halas (penalty happy but against storm could be to our advantage)

Toby didn't stand by his decision when he gave the goal from 6ft away then let Wilson wipe it out without even indicating high sticks prior to chalking off the goal clearly visible in the video highlight.
On reflection it would be interesting to see how many times NW & TC has made Flyers short handed in the last couple of minutes of games OVER THE LAST 2-3 YEARS........ IT'S BEEN A FEW.

I was probably a bit harsh on Manchester in the Quarter Final Results - Can you call it? thread. They have some decent players and are a well balanced side. However, they have a few big bodies on their team and 2 out and out goons in Rosehill and Springer. I still think if they get their tactics wrong and take a lot of penalties then we could punish them on the powerplay. On the other hand, if they control their physical play then that could allow their better players like Beca and Pitt opportunities to hurt us on the scoreboard. It is a hard one to call over the 2 legs but a busy, loud Fife Ice Arena can only help us.

Games so far this season against Storm
A L 2 - 3 H W 6 - 2 H L 2 - 5 A L 2 - 3
Should be a couple of great games to come, although we've lost twice down at their tiny rink they've both been very close games.
COYF
