Proud of the Flyers. Always up against it when we play teams that can roll 4 strong lines.
Hard lines boys. It’s been a great season and you’ve done us proud.

Terrific first period but we simply ran out of steam from that point. Cardiff fully in control once they scored.
Playing against them with a short bench was a massive ask (too many guys not getting icetime all season for me).
All in a great season overall (one i fully didnt expect) something to build on for next seaason

At the end of the day the far stronger team won.
We came out fast and hard and if only we could have scored a goal or two in that our only period of the game when we were actually on top it might have been a different game.
Going in 0-0 at the end of the first was really disappointing, after that there was only really one team in it, we were lucky to go in only one behind after the second and whatever happened in the third who knows I paid my tenner for two periods and a bit of a webcast.
Great season for us none the less, we'll done boys, thanks for all your efforts, particularly the local guys who not only ice for the team but have jobs to hold down as well, the real Flyers hero's.
Couldn't care less who wins now and certainly won't be throwing another tenner to see the P's v's the S's.

FROM EIHL TV
We've had many email in the last hour or so as you might imagine, so if yours has not yet been replied to directly please accept our apologies and accept this email as a response instead of a direct reply (we'd be saying very similar).
Many of you will have seen almost the whole game uninterrupted, but we definitely lost a large number of users for a period of time. We have identified two problems which have compounded to make this a frustrating afternoon for many of you. Both problems were corrected or resolved on the main streaming platform shortly after the third period started.
We'd like to offer all viewers who have not pre-ordered this evening's Panthers v Steelers game a free view of that game. If you have bought both games already and would like a refund for this game please forward your Paypal receipt to us and we will deal with it (though you will understand it may take time to process with the games this weekend and travel schedules.
As such all users will automatically be given free access to this evening's game and you do not need to do anything more, and you do not need to reply to accept that.
Please again accept our apologies
Yours, The team at EIHL TV.

Competitive in the first period but Cardiff went up a gear in the second and we had no answer. Dutiaume clearly has no faith in Scoon, Smith or Beattie to play even when we have injuries. So that needs to be addressed for next season. It has been our best season in this league and I will try to enjoy the rest of my weekend in Nottingham.

Great season overall and enjoyable hockey but still believe we miss one 'tough' guy. I hope most are back September time and especially hope a few don't fly the nest to other teams.
Thanks Flyers the long summer starts now.
Cardiff for the champs hopefully , can you imagine Dave Simms ?
next year COYF

To compete with the teams at the very top of the UK tree will require a bit more than just opening the wallet a bit further, it would have to be opened a great deal further, a great great deal further.

I don’t actually think we’re that far away, some of our guys could stroll into any team in the league, it’s just the fact they’ve got more of them, today was 4 lines against 2.5 at times and they just over awed us. Like has been said if Todd wants to achieve more than what he has this season he must sign brits of a higher calibre, and that’s not a slant on the current ones but Todd and Hutch don’t rate them, so that’s what matters. We will need 3/3.5 lines rolling next year to take that next step up. They all put it all on the line today but just didn’t have it in the tank, losing to Cardiff isn’t the end of the world but it showed what’s needed to be up there.

We have punched above our weight on a consistent basis this season, the work ethic of the team has just been great, hopefully we can get the core of the squad signed up and add a bit of depth into the roster for next season. Well done to players, coaches and backroom staff for making it a successful season.

The guys tried till the end but after the first goal went in it was pretty much all over. All year we have been going on about ice time for the Brits to no avail especially the forwards, ridiculous the lack of ice time given to the likes of Smith & Beattie and it hurt Flyers in Nottingham. News down there by the way was non returns for, Isles, Schaber, Young, Bloodoff, Leblanc and Gauthier with perhaps Scoon and Beattie......about half the squad.
