Devils win 3-2
But flyers played a great road game fought hard and played hard but you just can't make mistakes at the back and letting someone ghost right in on your goalie with under a min to go is just madness

Bad mistake with 48 seconds to go cost us a point 0-1 with a period to go 2-2 with 49 secs to go Good road game wrong ending We have played 3 of big 4 in the last week won against league leaders and lost by a goal against Devils and Panthers hopefully a sign that we should be beating lower places teams

The players must be gutted after that result, although heavily outshot they looked like they were playing the perfect road game at the home of the potential league champions this season. Perhaps a four point weekend as unlikely it would have been recently may be a possibility.

Another 1 goal game we could have taken something from..just imagine if we had made two changes from players who basically contribute nothing..all those narrow defeats could have been points. We would have been safe and possibly top half

Despite it being a 1 goal game against potential league winners, I didn't think flyers were particularly impressive and the scoreline flattered them greatly.
How many times over the years has a hot goalie saved the flyers from embarrassment. Morrison was peppered last night and in my opinion it could have easily been a 10 goal game had it not been for him.
Again the usual coasters in Tim Crowder, Just, Livingstone and Quaile to name a few. Although a massive shots against, a solid performance from most of the D with Gutwald, Arson and Jones keeping a lot of the shots to the sides. Didn't think other than Jones the rest of the Brits contributed much to the game. Paul Crowder got two goals but he was his usual lazy self, not back checking all night. Cazolla, the goat and Finucci again carrying the forwards but looking burnt out.
Power play was atrocious yet again spending most of them in our own zone, penalty kill was much better than of late but rode our luck to a certain extent.
Systems wise, the usual TD at the helm experience, the same all night long and pretty easy for Andrew Lord to predict despite the lines getting juggled about a bit.
Stating the obvious but flyers could have done with taking something from the game but Cardiff are just to deep and skillful and playing 4 lines, always looked like they had something in reserve.
Looks like the team may have turned a corner however this weekend is the last chance of working towards getting off the bottom place but it's not going to be easy with this squad.

Obviously you've made a few fair points but you lose it a bit with stuff like this where you're just going out your way to find things to criticise. Penalty kill was excellent against the best pp in the league- you always need to 'ride your luck' no matter what. 'Most' of our pp's spent in our zone? You do realise we had ONE pp all night aye?

I know Paul Crowder is not flavour of the month with a lot of posters on here but I am not sure that I entirely agree with them. Yeah, he has a languid style but his positional play is good. I paid particular attention last night and if you watch when he goes into a tussle for the puck he invariably comes out with it. I think he has been carrying a rib injury for a good part of the season and that has had an effect on his physical play. I thought all the team worked their socks off last night and just don't get the constant negativity. You even had it in for Buesa and McKenzie last night. I saw them putting themselves about finishing checks and harrying the Devils players at every opportunity.

Did Flyers game plan hamper the Devils or did the home snipers have an off night, personally i still think whilst Morrison had a great night the Flyers D core and back checking forwards restricted the shot quality he had to face hence the reason i thought the visitors were worthy of a point, then it's anybody's game. Yes we all know changes should have been made but thankfully the team will be back in the EIHL next season ......lets HOPE they have not taken The Caps place.

Watched the game this morning, Morrison was terrific so calm in net right now. Great road game for the first two but running 3 lines against 4 and a fast physical 4 lines told in the end. Our puck management let us down in the 3rd period. The winner was just a tired mistake for me and hard for the guys to take. All that said Cardiff did dominate that game. 57 shots on goal versus 22. Devils had 89 in total we had 38. Face offs 52 - 29 in favour of the devils. Flyers did well but you always felt the devils would take over, gutted it was the last minute though.
Tough loss to take.

They simply this year can't be making money if they are saying they need 2000 every home game to make it work they are only getting half that or just over how can it work

The lost games challenge cup and playoffs ( assuming they miss) will have an impact though.
