Just a thread for $h!ts and giggles.
What player did you first have the pleasure of watching and went wow and for what reason?
Mines was Steve Moria, thought he was cool wearing a half visor and a bandana. Also watched him stick handle at one of our practice sessions with a golf ball on the ice and was in awe at the guys skill.
Fantastic player on top of that!

Aye Moria was some player, very easy on the eye. Al Sims was another that was a great mover.

After a first season with more defeats than wins, my second season was the Wembley 85 one and the star of that year for me was Danny Brown. A great skater who made things look easy. Andy Donald’s performance in the final was also outstanding, considering how ropey the net minding could be in those days.

Milan Figala - absolute class on and off the ice. Coolness personified. Remember him hip checking someone over the boards at FIA but cannot recall who it was.

I will never forget Danny Brown having a terrible hit mid ice from someone from Ayr, Kevin Murphy maybe ? He lost a tooth at that moment and he was that ****ed off he forced a fight with the guy .... Danny Brown got my respect that night.

First one for me was Tim Cranston had others that were favourites over him but he was the first flyers guy that was the real wow for me. Short lived flyers career but what a few games it was. He seemed like he would score everytime he was on the ice.

Think it was when we beat Murrayfield 6-4 to qualify for wembley 1990. Rick Fera scored empty net goal at the end. Still have that top somewhere. It's a bit tighter now!!!

Dave Stoyanovich for me obviously, but before him Jim Lynch and Gordon MacDougall were great players. When Stoy burst onto the scene wow what a player the sheer amount of goals he scored was incredible.
For local guys it's hard for me not to pick Gordon Latto what a player he was, I don't know how many will remember when he came over with the young Swedish team he played for for a few seasons but these kids absolutely skated circles around us.
