Blaze were by far the better team on the ice tonight. We were giving the puck away too easily and not creating many chances. Thought we lacked speed when it came to it too.
One positive is there was only a handful of penalties so it was a mostly clean game.
Hopefully the team starts to gel a bit better in the coming weeks.

Let’s be honest without Shane it could have been a cricket score tonight. Thought he was phenomenal.
We created one or two. Adelgrad fanned on a very good chance in the first and think Anderson had one as well when Isaacs gave a lovely dish and he broke in on the left, but apart from those two I can’t remember many other good chances for us.
First line has good players but they had very little chemistry. Don’t know if the ice was bad because it wasn’t just us but there was a lot of pucks jumping over sticks,

Just watched the highlights from Coventry, yeah Shane played terrific and easily our MOM. I get its the blaze highlights but what you can pick up from watching them is that we are all over the place in our defensive zone. Players losing battles on the boards, first goal a prime example. Lost battle on board player simple skates into the slot totally unchallenged and scores. No idea what the 3/4 guys watching him were doing.
Lescovs mmm going to wait until I actually see him live before giving to many thoughts but his positional sense does raise a few eyebrows.
I do fear for the scoreline tonight. Bigger ice pad a giants with some real quality in their line up not t mention physical players.

It was like watching some of the old caps teams from past.
Again its still early doors, but my fear is if they dont at least compete tonight, crowds will fall, which will mean changes won't be made when needed.
I understand that owners might want some cash in the bank after the issues with covid, but flyers could be in danger of falling away in this league, after all, that last season was also done on the cheap and crowds continued to fall.
