LOL this place cracks me up. Countless comments about not developing home grown talent and Flyers should be doing more to bridge the gap between the senior and youth setups... they then announce a home grown d man signing and folk are saying he is too small and light and he should be on a 2 way contract ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Absolutely priceless!!! Are folk expecting the FIfe junior players to be built like 25 year old North American players. Flyers can't seem to do anything right in some people's eyes.

Or Ben Davies or Zach Sullivan or Sam Zajac or Sam McCluskey. C’mon guys young guy still learning it’s a good signing

As I said I am happy with this signing but in fairness to Reece he is still learning, and being on a 2 way would allow him to put things in to practice under less pressurised games than he would at flyers. For boys like him and Spence sitting for weeks will not do them any favours, the fact is he is small for a dman at elite level, but more than capable of taking limited shifts, however it would not be fair to make him the 6th D man at this stage that was my point. I also believe that all players on the fringes of flyers should be on 2 ways. This will bring the Kestrels level up which is greatly needed, and would allow an easier transition to elite.

Glad Cochranes back, he’s got all the skill, vision and ability to play at this level no doubt. I’ll half agree with his physical stature but if the club and the player have anything professional about them they’ll be able to develop this side of him….. but will they? That’s the question

It will be easy to contrast and compare how well the club deal with developing Cochrane I really like Stenton at Clan who is similar physical stature. Only TOI will determine how they progress. If done correctly they should both be GB blueliners of the future.

So could this be the Brit Line that EIHL seem to be aiming for with the extra bench numbers??
