Brilliant effort tonight. Everybody did their bit. Concern for Kloz who I don’t think got ice time for periods 2 and 3. Cardiff didn’t sound like they broke a sweat tonight so it’ll be a tough game tomorrow but if flyers play like that they’ll be in with a good chance

Well outplayed in the first. Blaze looked much more dangerous. Flyers defence looked a bit static at the Coventry goals. No lack of effort and a good finish by Laakkonen on the powerplay and a well worked goal finished by Phillips made sure it was just 2-3 after one.
In the second Flyers were much better and in total control with only a goal from Emmerdahl to show for all the pressure. Deserved to be in front after the second period display.
The third was fairly even with both teams making chances. A great save from Owen once again kept Blaze from taking the lead. A late powerplay paid dividends with Johansson forcing the puck home from close in and an empty netter from Laakkonen with clever assists from Emmerdahl and Owen. Just about deserved the win overall.
The Kivilahti Johansson Phillips line looked impressive. Owen was Owen and the team worked hard all night. Kloz didn’t ice in the second or third, although I hadn’t missed him in the second. No fault of Kloz. No ice time for Spence or Page and it looked like Cochrane had his ice time cut in the third. Again thought Cochrane had been steady.
Good two points. Will need to be at our best to repeat tomorrow.
