goal devils. 28 loses it at the blue, devils get breakaway and skins owen. flyers 2 - 3 devils flyers timeout 1.22 left Sandstorm big mistake We could have seen that game out at 2-1 We were very lucky to get 1 point from that game But extremely proud of the guys tonight They matched the Devils but should have put them to the sword on the 5 on 3

Really enjoyed the game and some really good passing plays tonight from both sides but it was a point lost as we should have shooted more on the PP and screened the keeper and a timeout should have been called imo at 4mins to go to give respite as the team were clearly puffing and running out of gas but Cardiff pulled the keeper at exactly the correct time to take advantage of this, great coaching on their part. Looking forward to the next game though as the hockey was very good tonight. COYF

We lost Harsch at the end of the second I would also question putting Emmerdal on 3 on 3 Not my first choice

We lost Harsch at the end of the second I would also question putting Emmerdal on 3 on 3 Not my first choice Harsch on crutches so not good news and I agree Emmerdahl would not be on my first 3-3 line but they must have played this out a few times during practice to come up with this choice.

Cracking first period with chances for both sides. Nice finish from D Lawrence gave Flyers the lead but Devils pulled it back to 1-1 before Harsch scored on the powerplay with C Lawrence screening the goalie with seven seconds left in the first.
In the second Devils took five minors, but Flyers huffing and puffing on the powerplay without troubling the goalie including a 79 second five on three and a four minute minor as Devils got frustrated with the refs. No goals in the second
Third was pretty even. Cardiff pulled the goalie with just over three minutes to go and scored almost immediately, then took the lead following a howler by Sanstrom on Devils blue line giving Crandall the breakaway which he put away past Owen. It looked all over, but into the last minute Flyers pulled Owen and almost straight away Johannson fired one in that Devils goalie looked as if he should have done better with.
In overtime Devils had all the possession and got the winner 32 seconds in. It would have been an injustice if Flyers had left this game with nothing. Good steady debut from Bafaro. Again Cochrane looks the part, and the Kivilahti Johannson Phillips line looked dangerous.
Frustrating that we didn’t get the win, but an entertaining game. I would have said yes please if offered a three point weekend before Saturdays game but it could well have been four.

Good weekend for the team not so much for the Brits tho, again sitting boys who should be getting their fair share of ice time. I will be honest and say I would rather watch them go out there and make mistakes than our imports. Some imports are making the same mistakes, turning over pucks in their own zone or over handling, playing too deep and getting caught out on the back check. Cochrane is getting a few shifts here and there but he sat the 2nd period last night. There is only so much a player will put up with and we will lose ALL the Brit talent at this rate.

I dont get this brit stuff, you are either good enough or not, they should be picked on merit, not where they were born

Im sure we would all like to SEE whether they are good enough and make our own assumptions.

Rory, the fans assumptions mean jack, the coach decides, that what they are paid for, but i see where your coming from To be fair to the coaches Our Brits have been getting ice time Last night we could all see that game was there for the taking The coaches restricted their minutes based on their experience Imagine if Reece had either given up the puck or took a hit like Harrsh did The Devils are a dirty team look at all the calls that went by last night and stick to wrist calls missed These guys were protected last night They are getting ice time
