It just shows that they are consistently inconsistent regardless who is there or not there for one game. Doesn't it? Or did you think that all systems etc were abandoned for two games without TD? I'm not a fan of the systems in the slightest. My own personal opinion is that opposition teams work us out far too easily and we have no plan b. My main points that I made regarding TD and JH, was that when TD is present there's very little interaction between him and the players during the periods. He's just there, arms folded and expressionless. Whereas, when he wasn't there JH seemed far more invigorated. He was pacing the bench, always giving instructions/ feedback to the players at the end of shifts, even if it was just a simple well done and a pat on the back. To me he JH is the better at man management, and encouraging his team in real time. TD just comes across like he sucks all life from the bench. That's just my opinion, I may be right, I may not be. Only people like Rhino would be able to tell us for certain, but that's unlikely to happen out of loyalty for the people in question. TD is a flyers legend, no one is denying him that, but he's had more than a fair crack at the whip. He's had one great season and many more poor. It's time to move upstairs permanently and let someone with a fresh approach have a go.

He was good when him and John coyle both arrived from Telford tigers . when games got physical he disappeared just like the teams he builds most forwards aren't overly big rely on speed with very little physical presence.but as a coach he is useless

Nothing personal you need to take your head out the sand and wake up and smell the coffee.

Ps zamboni check all the forwards we have signed since we entered the league think you will find most were probably between five foot ten and six foot and weren't very physical which is exactly what TD was as a player

It's clear that we need a change in coaches, rock bottom of the league for quite possibly three years on the trot.
What's really bad about this is in our version of ice hockey you can virtually change your whole team every season, you get a fresh start every season and for the last three our coaches have managed to pick squads of players who have been unable to compete with the other teams in the league.
There are really only two explanations for this one is that our coaches just pick the wrong type or calibre of player or two our coaches are incapable of getting the best out of their choices through poor coaching, strategy or motivation.
Either way for me anyway it comes down to issues with the coaches and I think a change is long overdue.

no sure about legend, that gets bandied about too much. cant say he has been great for the elite years.. just my opinion tho With regards to his coaching record then fair enough, it’s not great, but as a player I think “legend” is pretty justified. In the BNL - 489 points in 284 games, 119 points in 72 post season games, over 8 years, two league titles and two playoff titles, with big goals in pretty much every big game in those seasons. Either top scorer or second top scorer on team in each of those seasons bar one (when he was 3rd). Even led the team in PiMs once, believe it or not. In amongst that he played through injuries and brain surgery (!) without complaining or even mentioning it. From the BNL era he is up there with any of the best players we had - Monteith, Morris, Biette and co, and only a shade below Morrison (who he actually outscored a lot of the time, but Mo built the teams and coached them so we’ll give him the edge). I’d question whether anyone slating him for his playing record was actually there in the late 90s and early 2000s. When games got physical he disappeared…sure. That explains all the points and medals. Do I think he’s doing a particularly good job as coach? Not really, but you can slag him off for that without making yourselves look daft by suggesting he wasn’t that great a player.

Where was he slagged off ? . If you want to put folk on pedastals thats up to you. Where have I put him up on a pedestal? Just listed some facts and stats. Was responding to folk who said he disappeared in physical games and wasn’t a “legend” (implying overrated as a player, which is nonsense just because they don’t like him as a coach).

Whilst I completely disagree with him on his take of Todd as a player, I actually loved him as a player, but as a coach in the elite league he’s been completely useless and you can’t argue with that, you’re one of the very few that aren’t completely done with him.

The word legend is largely over used in my opinion, Gordon Latto was a legend but some of the other names batted around over the years do not even come close due to limited playing time with the club. With what 15 years here as a top player I think TD can rightfully be called a club legend. I still think though as a coach he should be replaced.
