Guildford have nothing to play for, let's hope they have a late night and plan on resting a few players for the play offs starting. Yes if we do it we probably will get leathered by Belfast, but a play off game should attack 2000 plus paying customers, throw in the bar and cafe takings, that a big income to gain or lose. |

A scrappy first which looked exactly what it was 9th v 10th and no scoring. Lots of effort but few real chances made. Good PK from Flyers including an extended spell of 3 on 5
The second was much of the same, but Flyers took their chances, first through Johansson from a neat Kivilahti touch, then a good finish from D Lawrence 49 seconds later. Kivilahti had been winding Fraser up and Fraser lost the plot and was kicked out for trying to fight an unwilling Emmerdahl. Phillips took advantage on the powerplay to make it 3-0 after two periods.
Two and a half minutes into the third Johansson got his second and Flyers fourth and that was that as far as the scoring went. Flyers then did their job by securing the shut out and the two points. Owen had a fine game and made 40 saves to blank Stars.
Decent crowd showed what potential is still at this club. Not sure if there’s enough to win at Guildford tomorrow, but never say never.
