With Ross highlighting the EU debate in our Independence thread, thought I'd start one just dedicated to the EU referendum.
How very political this Forum has become eh ;D
So....what's your thoughts....In......or Out.......ultimately, we will decide.

need to stay in 100%, it keeps Scotland as part of the open market in the EU which helps business. particularly as we are a country that has a lot to offer our European neighbours (renewable energy, fish stocks, oil, agriculture..)

How boring, I think we agree :-)
We need to stay in, but, I would suggest we also need to seriously look at some of the terms and conditions of membership. We have definitely given away too many powers, and we need to be accountable for our own decisions in more areas.

OUT! We need control of our borders and laws again and if that means out, then so be it.
Vote UKIP.

I think the EU Referendum promise by Cameron was designed to get UKIP voters voting Tory again, can't see UKIP doing that well because of what the Conservative are now guaranteeing.

That is well said. The big question from voters will be. "do we actually believe Cameron". I still think UKIP will take a significant number of traditional conservative voters. Ed M might not be the most charismatic of Labour leaders, but he could end up taking this one by default.

But why vote for UKIP when all you're doing is voting for a party that won't get power, when you can vote for Tories and actually get a referendum on being in the EU?

That`s exactly what I thought when it was announced. Tories don`t have the kahunas to announce an immigration halt though, so it`s still UKIP for me.

Why vote for UKIP when it's just a protest vote when u could vote Tory and actually get a referendum on it? UKIP will slide away at this new election

why let more people in to this country when we can't 1) look after our own in the first instance, 2) we are an island not a big mass of land like africa or usa or oz, 3) the world is bankrupt

Many, many people, especially in En-ger-lund are totally fed up with it and may well vote for UKIP. Almost everyone I speak to about feels the same, but will they have the guts? ? That`s the 64,000 dollar question. To vote Tory up here is a wasted vote anyway.

We had a local bi-election a few weeks back, only 2 parties bothered standing. Conservative, and UKIP. Labour are so far off the pace down here, and the Lib Dem guy probably made a promise to stand and then changed his mind ;-)

But I tell you what, if i'm anti-scottish in some of my views, i'm 100x more anti-rich-snobby-horseriding-drive4x4s-lookdownmynoseatpeople-southerners! I cannot stand them at all! Think Rangers-Celtic style hatred! If I had an option to go independent of the South/South-East with Scotland, I'd be voting yes! Anyway, to answer the question. I would vote OUT to sort the immigration problems out. However, given the reasons that UKIP want out of the EU is basically because that means they can scrap the minimum wage and workers' rights, I'll be voting to stay IN.
