I feel Derek Keller for me is the unsung hero of the team this year.
Works hard at the back but is responsible for a lot of the play making and often the goal scorer too.
Who's yours and why ?

Carriveau hardly makes a mistake, has an absolute pinger and a great skater. Hope he's back next year.

Mine was haines right from the start, then we lost him for all those weeks and he became very sung about! So probably keller too, tho hamish, gets An honourable mention for trying to take a big check on every import on the ice before his season was ended

For me Blair Daly almost two seasons left on the bench as a spectator then last week thrown in the deep end and has done a good job. The game at Murrayfield he was abandoned by the rest of the team, this weekend two away games with the top teams hope it goes well for Blair

Kyle Horne, turns up and does his job week in week out with very few mistakes. He's obvously hurting right now but never gets onto teammates or refs.

Yup Kyle for me too, how many other guys would play thru the pain and injury he does, not just this season but every season. Zach and Derek both come a very very very close second, I think they are both top top class puck moving d men. And the way Zach just accelerates thru his hits is just wonderful to watch,

Although Hoggy has to get a mention too, being moved from 1st line to 2nd line back to 1st line back to 2nd and not playing his natural wing position very much, what a points return from him. But if we go on points, bobby is hands down the hero, what's that now 50 points in HOW MANY games, now THAT'S points producing, if that guy doesn't get minimum 3 points a game am upset hahaha

am sure lots will disagree with this but for me this season it is Todd.
He has come back from a very difficult time last season, when most others at his age would have given up, he shows flashes of brilliance at times is great in the corners, works hard. Is pretty decent on the PK, His speed lets him down but thats to be expected at his age. I would guess that this would be his last season playing, and if it is he can certainly be proud of himself.

agree Zico, all things considered been pretty impressed by him this year not only on the ice but off it too. theres been a lot of frustration vented re getting singings pre season, reinforcements or replacements through the season, but so far he and Danny have put together a cracking team, getting the "right guy" is sometimes not warmly received by fans, but would anyone seriously drop any of our imports the way other teams have? doubt it, and thats testament to the recruitment done.
for me i've liked Zach from day one, McAlpine is most improved Brit and been great to watch develop this year, will be gutted if, as rumoured, this is his last season here. Kyle is Kyle, solid and reliable, and Daly is now getting his reward both in ice-time and from the fans. Actually think Tommy has improved massively from last year too, and if he plays with Danny on D that improvement should continue apace for the rest of the season. In fact the whole third line has looked pretty good at times this season, just not produced many points, which probably is not their primary aim.
so whilst in no way am i a happy clapper, i'd say i was a realist, this season has been another big step forward and it's been fantastic to watch the team this season at home, but now i'm waaaaay off topic

I was going to say Hogger, but a good shout by Zico, I can't begin to imagine what Todd went through and is still going through. I was reminded of this by wee Olivia pulling on my hair at the bar last week after the game, and sitting on her own with the players wife's/girlfriends.
Todd has to be given credit for his strength, determination and building this team again this season!
His performances on the ice have improved this season also, while he's not a Haines or Pitton, he's doing a power of work and his two way game (which he never was in earlier days) helps with the defensive side.
Good call for Todd

I think most if not all the imports get a lot more praise than any of the British guys so for me even though they are great players, they are not 'unsung heroes'. So like a few others I'm going to go with Kyle who for me plays a solid game every night and continues on despite injuries. He will leave a very big hole in our defence when he finally decides he's had enough.

I think for me Hogger has been awesome Casey is our star but Hogger has been pretty incredible for us this year. He goes to the dirty areas and works hard for the betterment of the team. Just a real team guy and I think he is just a superb player.
As for a British player Horne and Hamish have been great but for an unsung hero Im going to go for Jamie Wilson. Maybe a surprise but I think he has had a pretty solid season he has done well on faceoffs for the 3rd line played well in both zones and I thought he was missed when he was out for a little while.
