Panthers to travel up on Friday and stay overnight. No bus legs or bad preparation for them! Thats Professional for you. Perhaps we should think a wee bit out the box for Sundays travel to miinimise the bus legs & to try and change our own players mindset about away games - Train is only about 4 hours, rather than a bus. Or even a flight to East Midlands Airport - saves the 6 am start on Sunday and gets you there rested.

Why not even leave after Saturday's match, drive half way down, b&b. Shorter journey next day. I expect it's a while before players can sleep after match hype so maybe would be easier. Cost of b&b.though!!!!

Re "thinking out of the box" : We could ask Nottingham if they could please hire a double decker for their trip up and then share it with them on the way down after the game. Then the team could just hang around down there for a week to save expenses for the play-offs. Nottingham could let the Flyers have their training slot at the National Ice Arena as they won't be needing it. After winning the final the players won't have so far to travel to Heathrow for their flights home. These savings could be used to finance 11 imports from the start of next season. Surprised no-one else has thought of this!

If you want to know if this can be done and beat Panthers you need look no further than the current German play offs and Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg finished 10th in the final league standings in a 14 team league. The German play offs have the top 6 automatically qualify and then the next four teams play a best of 5 series to have a final 8.
Wolfsburg as the last team to qualify came through the best of five by winning twice in Nurenburg and have now come up against the league champions Mannheim who finished 26 points ahead of Wolfsburg and in the best of 7, Wolfsburg are currently 3 games to 2 up.
Anything is possible especially over just two games

I believe it is possible.
We need to play the most physical game we have all season when we can hit a guy we hit them. Lets show them who is boss, league standings mean nothing 120 mins will decide this so we should not fear them. If we stamp our authority on the game and bring the heat shift after shift then we have a chance. We need to stay out the box, If I was Dutes I wouldn't want to see a single trip or hook all weekend, we just can't take soft penalties. Oh and Pitts has to play the weekend of his life. If we play like we did against Braehead and Edinburgh we have a great chance. Casey and Stewie will bring the energy, Dutes will bring the passion from the deepest place possible.
Can we do it - You bet we can. I hope its the noisiest the barn has been in years lets make noise and introduce the panthers to Fortress Fife and if its going to be Todds last game in the barn lets make sure he knows when he walks off the ice how much of a hero he has been.
Lets Do it for Dutes.
I can't wait for Saturday.

I think that we can beat them at Kirkcaldy.
It will need a disciplined performance played at a super high tempo throughout. No stupid cheap penalties as others have said but played at a much more physical level than we normally play. Every hit should be finished and any dirty or nasty stuff from the Panthers should be suitably punished right away. We cant be pushed around in any way in our own rink.
A few good hits in the opening minutes and the rink will be baying for blood.
Lets get it on

After watching the 10:2 game I wanted the season to end. However revenge is sweet! Flyers are the underdogs. If we pull them apar with fast breaks, match them physically and punish their mistakes we can cause a shock. I bet some of them have the game won in their minds and feel they can win in 2nd gear. Let Flyers start with a bang, our crowd lift the roof and powerplays flow in our direction. I go for a 3:1 win for Flyers with all our goals on the PP. Lepine to get thrown out the game and a few scuffles to cause excitement.

We will never match Nottingham in physical terms, not a chance in h*ll in matching them physically. We have to be disciplined in order to stay in the game
