Thanks for updates guys. Does anybody know why Dutes has not played this weekend and why Stewart was down as coach last night? Apparently Dutes took a puck to the knee last weekend. No idea about why Danny was named as coach for the game last night, but Dutes was certainly running the bench. official time sheet now has Todd as coach, both Saturday and Sunday anyway, huge thanks to all at Fife Flyers, fantastic season, fantastic effort and performance this weekend, unfortunately, in my my opinion, refereeing decisions made the task of qualifying for the play-off weekend just that tiny bit beyond us, but proud of each and every player, proud to be a Flyers supporter, what will i do til September now ?

Top effort guys, unlucky to not take us over the two legs. Your boys left it all out there on the ice, absolutely everything. Your captain Casey Haines optimised that spirit, skating back with 30 seconds to go and flying through the air to block a certain empty netter. You've got the nucleus of a very good side who could be top-5 next season with good recruitment and a full import quota right from the off.
Nice to see so many Fifers down here in the game (and now the pub!) too. Great support.

I'm never one to usually have a dig at refereeing but..........
Well Cowans second delay of game penalty last night was just a terrible decision and it gave Panthers a way back into this game.
I'm gutted, but very proud to be a Flyers supporter. We support the best team in the land. Cant wait till next season, bring it on !

Gutted at both decisions tonight, I couldn't hear the whistle on the first goal, so can't comment on that, but the players reactions say a lot and the panthers dman scooping the puck out from behind Kwall and the his head going down said a lot!
They got out of jail on that one.
For the second goal, Podge was driven into the crease and was face down in front (not on) Kwall when Hogg roofed the puck in.
What really got me was the apathetic display of reffing where he immediately evened up each penalty as he gave them against the panthers.
Pretty disgusting really. The game should have at least went to OT, but a lot of the Flyers players were running on empty come the final buzzer.
Well done on a great season Flyers, you let no one down.

Just home from the game and Flyers were cheated tonight no question, Smith should be reviewed and retired, on other notes Flyers PP is still woe full, Zac wasn't pounded into the boards he got a 2 handed check to the head near Panthers blue line ( no call ref close to it ), Todd was on the bench and limping quite a bit outside after the game, sore knee and Casey ( superman impression ) stopping a eng shot. Superb effort by all but shafted to second prize material.

Firstly Flyers couldn't have given any more last night than they gave, they looked shattered at the end of the first period ao how they managed to keep going for the remaining two periods was phenomenal.
For Smith to firstly award our first goal and then allow himself to be influenced to wash it off was incredulous and just absolutely wrong. Stick by your convictions and have a back bone.
Our second disallowed goal I can see why it was washed off but Turnbull was pushed in to Kowalski before Hogg scored, I have also seen those type of goals given.
We did have good opportunities but we never got any breaks of the puck last night. Our powerplay was absolutely shocking but that was down to us being tired and not moving and Panthers putting pressure on Haines and Keller when they were carrying the puck so we couldn't get anything set up.
I am not surprised that some our players tweeted that the ref and the league was corrupt last night but for us to go 120 mins and only conceed 1 even strength goal was a fantastic performance but this weekend has totally come to down to two referees having an undue influence in our games was absolutley shocking

Dodgy decisions or not we had 10 pp opportunities and didn't score on any of them. IF we had scored on only 50% of these the Ref couldnt have been accused of anything.
Onwards and upwards

As i have said elsewhere the PP statictics from last night are somewhat misleading.
On a number of occasions as soon as we got a powerplay Smith called a penalty on us to even it out so the time on the powerplay was practically non-existent but still gets called as a powerplay.
Third period when we had PP opportunities we were so knackered that we couldnt skate into positions for the pass

It would be some team that scored on 50% of their PP's even the NHL are nowhere near that. Flyers had a 5 on 3 for 1 minute last night and had several shots on goal, but on a PP it was usually both teams less than 5 players where you can be easily caught out as indeed Flyers were giving up 1 SH goal. Both net-minders were on top form with BP losing goals mainly due to being screened having 2 Panthers in front of him at all times. Its not sour grapes that Fife were beaten but having to overcome the countries best team + all the officials on and off ice takes some doing and last nights game had to be seen to be believed, it was embarrassing to watch and hard to defend Smith & co and that also was the tone of many Panthers fans leaving the Arena, they got out of jail and they knew it, hence the frustration and subsequent actions of some of the Flyers players.
