But either way, there are a few ways around Campbell's ban. I am fairly certain he'll get signed up for another club on a non-wages basis just to let the ban expire. Obviously neither party would announce such agreement, but it'll probably happen.

The version of events are 100% correct. When a player is sent to the dressing room, security should be on the door as they are expected to stay their for the duration of the game, he managed to walk all the way to the other dressing room without being challenged. That is definitely something Hull and maybe others clubs need to look at. Quite possibly. But unless the rules changed recently, security was never a requirement. When we were in EIHL, we never had anything close to security. We just had a few volunteers. It most definitely is a requirement. Scroll down to the bottom of this www.eliteleague.co.uk/eihl-rules--s12541 and you'll see the section labelled Police Protection and Security.

Very open to interpretation and under the wording 'other protection', volunteers could cover this. I stand by what I said. We don't have the budgets in this country to be asking for Police or paying off-ice staff, at least many of them anyway, in this country. You're not getting to be getting G4S at games in this country. Though given their recent failures, even having them there may have failed to prevent this incident lol!

Pretty sure it's G4S that do the Braehead games, although I imagine this is supplied/arranged by the arena. At Fife, a security firm supplies security personnel. These cover the team benches, the home and away dressing rooms and the penalty "boxes".

Usually supplied by the arena at places like Braehead, N.E.C etc. That could be why your budget is seemingly smaller than teams with lower attendance then if you're hiring security yourselves. It was not something that was ever done when we were in Elite.

The security cost will be an additional cost to hiring out the venue. In my experience of booking events in Glasgow (which, granted aren't in as big as arenas as Braehead but still of a significant size) anyway.

Phoenix have signed up Campbell anyway. From the home page; *shakes head* [Edit] Actually, I didn't see the date of his first game. Why sign someone if they aren't going to play until the end of the season?

But on a serious note, because Campbell has been released, he has now been given a date when his ban will expire rather than a number of games. He is banned until the end of the season, whether he signs for a club or not.
