They were out on the sauce last Saturday, and granted they played brilliant against Nottingham, and out on Thursday night in kitty's, surely the drinking culture hasn't ended, how much of it has to do with these kind of performances?

Never understand why they don't put Douglas in for some valuable ice time when it's obvious the game's done? Just destroying Owen's record along with not giving the backup some welcome game time.

Whilst last nights result and performance was way below what was expected, I honestly don't see what the problem is with the guys going out for a few beers on Thursday night, which was two full days before the game. Plus they also played on Wed night. Now going out the day before the game is a huge no no in this day and age.

Game Wednesday drink sesh Thursday , fit for training Friday! Game and bus trip Saturday. Doesn't sound like the best preparation and then some of the team look to be going through the motions.

We've been horribly inconsistent most of the season, you just wonder if the players here had the professionalism levels of the big clubs would they be performing at a higher level all year, I think it would certainly help, regardless of the wages they're on they're professional athletes and going out to a local night club that closes at 3am Friday morning, technically training the same day for a visit the following day to a team we needed to beat to keep any conference hopes alive is shocking preparation, these guys have the summer of every year and have a job most of us would die for, surely it's not too much to ask not to be out boozing less that 48 hours before a big game, and less than 24 hours before a game last weekend aswell.

What I noticed is that it appears to be the same players who are out on the peeve and ironically enough, one of the them is our goalie!

Fair enough if the guys go for a drink after a big Sunday win (like Hooters a few weeks back after beating Nottingham), they've got their day off on a Monday to recuperate and rest for another hard week of training.
But how can they justify going out and getting absolutely hammered so close to the weekend? They are so-called 'professional' hockey players but there is nothing professional about their behaviour. Fans spend a lot of their hard earned cash to go and support the team - look at the support they got last night down in Manchester after that scoreline against Sheffield mid-week. The reward that the fans got? To see, to be frank, dross for 60 minutes; a team that got outplayed and outclassed all night.
It's surprising that the drinking culture still exists, especially this year with such an older and experienced lineup. Guys like Dingle, Brooks, Moyer and especially Jackman, given his past, should be educating the other players about the negative effects that alcohol has on them and building a mentality that 'that kind of behaviour doesn't belong in this team'.
Well that's my take on it anyway...

Were they actually "wrecked"? How do you know they were? Maybe we don't want to finish above Manchester and get possibly Belfast or Cardiff? We maybe aiming for clan if we finish 7th.

Amateur performance from a bunch of amateurs, coached by an amateur in an amateurish way. That's how it is folks! The fans who travelled down last night were taken for a ride big time. I went over to the double header in Belfast last season, team out till three in the morning after the first game, hammered in the second. Never again.

The Nickerson debacle says everything about the culture. Knew it was no big deal to turn up out of shape, getting drunk all the time. Signs for Belfast, loses about 2 stone and gets ripped, doesn't step out of line on or off the ice
