One of our biggest games. No room for error or complacency and the real Flyers have to turn up if we are going to stop the drift downwards in the league. Finnerty will have his guys geed up for this one.

Hopefully get a decent crowd for this one, there’s not a much better sight in ice hockey than watching the Storm losing their discipline and Finnerty spitting the dummy.

Byers caused that a bad loser that’s for sure Credit for Stoflet for standing up to him The refereeing tonight was abysmal Toby we know he will side with his pal Finnerty but the other Ref was a complete plonker Should not be on the ice Fair play to Jeff going out to stop it before it boiled over in to an all out brawl Hope the cameras caught it all Byers should be getting a knock from DOPS Unfortunately a fife player will get hauled in to it

What a tosser that Byers is... was watching the webcast... not sure what kicked things off though Don’t know what kicked it off but Finnerty should be in big trouble AGAIN for not controlling his bench as the whole Storm team came the length of the ice to cause that trouble. Good to see Jeff getting the youngsters out of the way of the goons that purport to be ice hockey players in the Manchester colours.

Firstly the game. Good first period with not much between the teams. Storm upped the physical play after Flyers took the.lead and Flyers had no answer to the hit everything approach. Flyers were intimidated and looked as if they had no desire to hit back. All Storm in the second. No idea, other than the Shane Owen show, how Flyers weren’t well behind after 40 minutes. Flyers struggled to get out of their own end and as for the face offs.... A great defensive display by Flyers in the third and even managed to miss a couple of really good chances to seal the game. Great performance from Owen, with Pinkston, Finucci and McKenzie having good games. Aarssen and Crowder didn’t finish the game due to injuries following Storm hits. Basaraba not in any danger of being injured as he disappeared after being hit in the first period and spent the rest of the game avoiding contact. Not for the first time either. The refs were poor again. Copeland spent a ridiculous amount of time talking to the Storm bench and was still bent over deep in conversation with a Storm player when the game was going on. The incident where Byers got 2 for roughing in the first could well have escalated due to the refs not getting a grip of the situation quickly.. The nonsense at the end seemed to be due to Byers trying to start bother after the handshakes resulting in most of the Storm team crossing into the Flyers end. Stoflet lost his footing scrapping with someone and looked as if he hit his head on the ice. Didn’t look good as he was led off the ice. Don’t have much faith in DOPS dealing with Finnerty for failure to control his team.

Shane Owen is part of the Flyers team it was not a one man show tonight our PP was in top form we were heavily outshot in 2nd and 3rd periods but stood tall Storm could not get puck in the net We lost Crowder early on and Schaber didn’t ice either and now stoflet with probably a cracked skull and Arssen injured and with DOPS looming we could have a real problem next weekend which is another big weekend
