Fantastic game between Belfast and Guildford worthy of the final, end to end battle with everything a hockey game should be, refs only found their whistle once for a high stick giving the Flames a last chance to equalise in a game neither team deserved to lose, win win for the fans on this occasion.
2nd game played out like I expected after watching Flyers narrowly losing the week before at the same venue, Devils put the Panthers to the sword for a first period 4 nil lead then eased their way to a 9-4 win after 60 minutes, agonising for the home fans and not a great spectacle by any manner of means.
Belfast / Cardiff final and it's the Devils for me after todays performance.

Cracking final with a blood & guts first period excellent second and total warfare for a third. Hedden scored a good goal in the first with no more until the last period when a Raine shot from the point went straight through a crowded crease followed very quickly by an excellent Fournier rush ending up with a one / two and the said player deking the Giants nettie with a great back handed effort. Devils held out for over 7 minutes to retain the EIHL Silverware great spectacle which unfortunately could only have one winner.
The 3rd / 4th game should really be scrapped and back on the drawing board for the time slot as normal this game was paint drying experience and means hee haw, very few people or players want it.

Enjoyed the first semi the best of all weekend, but the Final was a decent game too. Thought Giants deserved to win but the game winner was a thing of beauty and worthy of winning the trophy. Agree with Ronnie re the third fourth place game. Needs dumped. Good weekend overall. Looking forward to next year.
