Saw a couple of posts on Facebook comparing this Flyers team to those of recent years and how we weren't progressing under Coolen so decided to have a little look. I believe the person posting those posts were just fishing for a reaction.
So currently we already have more points this season than we have in any season since the league went to 10 teams and have already scored more goals this season than in any of those seasons. Since Dec31st we have got 21 points from 19 games for 55.2 percent success which puts us 4th in the league over that period behind Sheffield at 90%, Cardiff at 80.5 and Belfast at 63.8. The worst in the league over that same period have been Clan with 13 points from 19 games for 34.2.
I like stats and have had far too much time on my hands

And almost importantly is that it is entertaining hockey to watch with 60 plus minutes of effort from every member of the squad. Also the players are individually identifiable character, not the morphed players of the past. It’s been a great season despite league / cup position and I certainly hope that whoever wants to return gets the opportunity to do so.

Under TD in the last few years Flyers were a difficult watch, you'd come away disillusioned, angry and frustrated. Under TC we still lose games and our league position is the same but we're good to watch and the effort put in by the players for 60 mins game in game out has been refreshing.
I think we could be half a dozen or more points better off and on any given night could beat any team home or away.

The key has been the injury troubles in December but also our ot/ps record if we were better at getting the extra point even half of the time we’d be fine. Other than that it’s night and day under Coolen. I hope he’s back next year and we announce it ASAP. Given a full summer we’d have a cracking team.

If they were to get his signature anytime soon it would most likely mean early season ticket purchases and more season ticket purchases putting them in a good position to secure sponsorship and subsequently get players deals done. Even though it’s not been apparent that this has happened in seasons past, I’m optimistic that this must be happening this year….. come on coach, put us out our misery
