1st period was decent Flyers were making a game of it. 2nd period got off to a bad start The ref had a howler and it sucked the life out of the Flyers, down hill from there i,m afraid. 3rd period was a training session. Hope Bryan Pitton is ok,he looked like he over stretched at the end of the first when he stopped Panthers from scoring hopefully just a precautionary measure. Was Dolan benched or hurt he never appeared 2nd period. Must admit i didnt think we were going to get anything from this game, but i didnt think we were in for a real doing!! Lepine and Graham should have been chucked out the game for the treatment they gave Hogger. The three blind mice were spinless tonight and ruined the game.

What's the point though when you have a ref that will give you a penalty for nothing. Hogg got jumped by 2 guys and ended up with a penalty for it! How does that work? A very tall order to get anything out of this game at the best of times but when you have goals that were kicked in being given and players being penalised for getting punched, what hope do you have?

Sparky, Cowan never influenced that game one bit IMO. Hogger tried to bump the keeper and paid the price because they have players who won't think twice to stand up for each other. If it was at the other end we would have done nothing. Yeah a goal was kicked in but if he doesn't see it and his linesmen say its a goal he has to give it.
We should have called a time out then and calmed the guys down but our coaches appear to have done nothing.
If I'm honest I would love our team to play exactly like the panthers they are fantastic.

So why did he get a roughing call? Surely it should have been goaltender interference?

Have to agree with Waterboy in that the ref can't be blamed for that defeat, in fact just count how many power plays we actually had!
It was men against boys all night, just got to forget about it and get on the road tomorrow and hopefully pick up the points.

Wasn't at the game tonight but I have been shouting about our lack of physicality all season the truth is our units just don't balance. I love our imports to pieces but we lack a physical player at the back and at least 1 guy on each forward line who is going to protect the others.
If we could sign an equivalent to Keefe and a D man who is not going to take any rubbish and finish his hits we will be much improved. I know we have big ice but Finner sets his team a challenge of 60 hits per night we are lucky to make 20 a night, especially with Hamish missing. Mo realised he needed to add to the physicality of our team to win the BNL again so brought in Spad and Kuz and what a difference it made. No team should come in our barn and think they can do what they like. Well done to Tommy at least he stood up for his team about time some of the imps did the same. By the sounds of it that is twice in two weeks, (tonight and last week against Hull) where a mugging of one of our players has taken place and twice the perpetrators have got away with it. Unacceptable.

The last few games we have watched Haines,Hogger and Turnbull getting pushed around with nothing in return. Its this Fife way again, dosent work in this league. When we signed J Pitton i thought great we have somebody with a bit of presence on the ice, other than the so called cheap shot at Dundee we have seen nothing. If we are to continue to improve next year we need a couple of big guys that are going to stand their ground with these Arena teams

Not to mention the fact that physical players and fights bring in the crowds, watching tonight was like deja-vu to last season where we were knocked all over the ice and submitted like little lambs

Must admit very disappointed at tonight's performance, with respect Nottingham are a great team good to watch. They are a lot bigger fitter faster and all round more skilful than the flyers, watching them at the warm up they where putting more effort into the warm up more intense than us . We got what we needed a very good lesson. Plus points for tonight was the first period performance thought Scoonie done well with the few opportunities that he had, Lets put this behind us and look forward to the good times ahead

Just hope that tonight doesn't affect us tomorrow or any further as we get to the last few weeks of the regular season.

So why did he get a roughing call? Surely it should have been goaltender interference? yeah your right and Lepine could easily have been called for 3rd man in. However doesn't change the things that were so wrong tonight within our own team.

You're not going to beat Nottingham unless your goalie is on fire. Unfortunately, Bryan Pitton had a nightmare tonight.

well we played a few howlers, brian dropped the first goal, cowan was his usual gash self but i still enjoyed watching panthers, class team to watch had an interesting conversation with a panthers fan who thought cowan was the worst he had seen, says a lot when you complain after winning 10-2

I'm not for 1 minute blaming the ref for the result, I'm just trying to get my head around some of his decisions.

Watching the live stream, which is great btw. But! What i had to listen too was nothing short of disgracefull. What a credit to the youngsters some of you guys are. Is it some kind of inbuilt part of a Dundonian's psyche that you need to post about Flyers fans and their supposed disgraceful behaviour? It's a total bore. I've stood near the Dundee support at DIA several times recently and it can get a bit choice in there too... But then again- who cares?
