if being 25 pts from 1st and 10 ahead of 9th is the yardstick of success then suppose hes done well..i think he has been lucky with signings who gelled quickly..they have slowly slipped down the table after first 15 games or so..Bakala has won them 10+ pts on his own..i also think he is selfish on the ice and puts his team in trouble with stupid misconduct pens..i would give him 6/10 and a 1 yr contract only

Been in the top half of the table all season with a small budget compared to others. Been lucky with signings? I think he and Kash have done their homework better that's all, And Hutch deserves the recognition this year. If I could find a worse sour grapes post I would quote that one. This is the winner though. Pick up your trophy at the end of the season.........Oh wait!!!!!!

He's done a great job, Kashirsky Being probably his smartest signing. Have a style of hockey and play as a team. Any team in this league would miss rawlyk if they lost him during the season as he was a real find, best d man in the league IMO. However.... I still fancy fife to scrape 7th and give youse a pasting in the playoffs

Where's your proof of that? You've signed about 17 imports this season, replacing injured guys etc., and you've also got Dolan, McCluskey, Swindlehurst and McKenzie. I've no problem with that but just wonder why so many Stars fans claim they're on such a small budget. Do guys like Rawlyk, Dowzak, Sachetti and Kashirsky get much less wages than other imports at other teams?

I was under the impression that they're on a smaller budget anyway. If you look at the number of fans they're getting through the doors every week they're bringing in less money than anyone bar Edinburgh/Hull. They could be making huge money from sponsorship, but I doubt it.
Fair point about Rawlyk and co. I doubt they're playing for peanuts, but the team's unlikely to be running at a loss either. You can only spend what you're bringing in and all.
Either way, I think Hutchins has done a great job this year. Sure, the wheels have came off a bit, but wherever they end up is likely to be higher than anyone would have had them pencilled in for.
Good recruitment as everyone's saying - the boy's probably put together as good a team as anyone could in Dundee.
