How do the semi-finals line up? are they drawn or does it follow on from the 1/4 finals?

How do the semi-finals line up? are they drawn or does it follow on from the 1/4 finals? if it's like last season then the seeding you have is the seeding you keep, so going into the semi-finals the highest ranked seed plays the lowest ranked seed in the first semi-final followed by the middle two seeds in the second semi-final

It is like last year. If we qualify for the semi finals we will keep our No 7 seed and not take Dundees' No 2 seeding

i think it should be like nhl. 1v8, 2 v 7 , 3 v 6 , 4 v 5 , then next round should be winner of 1 v 8 plays winner of 3 v 6 and winner of 2 v 7 plays winner of 4 v 5,

From EIHL site.
Quarter-finals will follow the usual match-ups over two legs with seed one facing eight, two against seven, three versus six and four playing five. Overtime and penalties will be used after the second leg if needed.
Seedings for the semi-final and final will be determined by the original quarter-final ranking, so the highest-placed team left in the playoffs will be ranked as the highest seed.
The highest seed will play the lowest seed in the first semi-final, with the remaining seeds playing in the second semi-final
As I see it, if Belfast(1) beat Hull(8)and Fife (7) beat Dundee (2), you play Belfast in the first semi-final.

That's quite strange you would think that seed 1 (Belfast) should meet seed 2 (Dundee) in the final. Like in the NHL

It's only if we get through that Belfast play the winner of our quarter final, if Dundee win then Belfast most likely play braehead or Coventry depending on who gets through their quarter final.

Aye but what I mean is you would think at this point it's a playoff tree with seed 1 at top and seed 2 at bottom
