A complete waste of time and money tonight. Given the importance of the game, it's hard to believe how flat the team were. I notice there's no sign of an interview with Todd yet. Down the High Street Celebrating Nicos Birthday

Thanks for the updates icysmith.
Sounded like a dire performance from Flyers tonight. Not great reading.

There is a couple of quotes on Twitter from a FFP interview todd, not as many quotes as normal but im not surprised as there's not a lot to say about tonight. We usually get Ali's interview before midnight but no sign of it tonight. Todd can complain about how the players react all he wants; he signed them and decided to keep them even when he admitted there was a problem with guys taking nights off.

Maybe the players got what they deserved, but what about the paying punters, when are going to get what we want. No, I'm not asking to win every game, but at least put your heart and your head into every game. There's not a business in the country than can survive if their employees were as half hearted as that shower.

Worst display since we joined EIHL. As to next season how many would want to come back, they are not allowed to play their natural game to fit in with the systems which every team in the league had sussed after the first 10 games and we have mostly struggled since then.
I feel a lot of people were getting money under false pretenses tonight, it was obvious from the first period the players just didn't seem to care, the lack of effort was embarrassing. The only game we have this weekend I would have had them play their hearts out to finish empty at the end of the game, but it was played at the speed of a practice session and the number of times we just gave the puck to Hull all over the ice was woeful, I have never seen so many players looking to see where the puck was, even if it was at their own feet, and I think we had one move all night that had more than two successful passes in it.
How we can continue like this is beyond me, earlier in the season we had the measure of Hull and most other teams, now you can't turn up and think we'll get a win against any team.
Once again the referee was a disgrace, when did the hip check become an offense, as any player who successfully carries one out wearing a Fife strip is now penalized, which is confusing as Aaron Murphy said that Tommy Muir was the best exponent of this in the whole league. Every time Matt Nickerson was on the ice tonight Mr Craig followed him and gave him his undivided attention until he could call a foul on him to get him off the ice, yet DOPS will not be reporting on the performance of the stripeys. Last week was one of the few occasions I can remember a stripey getting a round of applause from the fans for carrying out his job as it should be done, with no bias or favour, yet there are three referees who will stop at nothing to get Fife players penalized or banned even if they have to invent a reason. Our minor penalties have not helped our season, but most of them are down to the same three officials, but we should have learned to give them no excuse to penalise us and to appeal when it is unfair, at the moment they know we will not appeal so they get away with murder.
Braehead were dismantled tonight as were every other Scottish team and we scored the only goal, any delusions about Scottish teams, other than Braehead, guaranteeing a playoff place in any season would be a very long odds bet.
Fourth season and we were promised upgrades, this season the only reliable upgrades we have had were keeping Kevin Regan and the vast improvement in Chris Wands play, Tommy Muir was steady this year but not as explosive as last year, after Kyle Horne got injured we have really struggled and is he ever likely to be fit enough to play again.
We have made a mess of this season and 8th is the best we can now hope for unless Dundee play a remarkable game tomorrow night, I would give our pine sitters more time on the ice to give them their day in the sun and to see how they perform at this level..
As for next year, there will be very few players continuing, I would imagine the better ones getting better offers and some retiring or giving up, so yet another clean slate with players arriving late, not sure of the rink, the systems or anything else, not an exciting prospect, unless we have a wake up call and decide to become a professional hockey club and have a complete coaching change, players arriving two weeks minimum before the season starts, and not filling the team with small nippy players that get flattened by virtually every other team, and signing Brits that were not born in Kirkcaldy until we rebuild the links with junior development so that there is a natural progression through all the age groups and then on to Kestrels or Flyers/Kestrels, until then if they are good enough we can't be picky about their place of birth..
If we don't improve is there any possibility we will be uninvited from EIHL if they get a better offer from an up and coming team down south, the complete lack of TV coverage of Fife games this year shows the esteem in which we are held.
Rant over, but that was so awful I waited a bit before writing it.

Absolutely brutal tonight!
Sorry to say but this was on of the worst performances of the season when we are supposed to be in play off mode!! Wholesale clear out required for next season including coaches! Sorry but directors need to understand this isn't SNL and players & coach need to be held to account!
Hope they all enjoys Nico birthday party but to be honest it did look like they started the celebration at 7:15 tonight!

Fair enough some we could debate but both sides had debatable calls. I actually liked the fact he pulled matt over at a face off and put him in his place as matt had the red mist descending and that seemed to knock it on the head instead of him getting chucked for something stupid later. 2) why would we be Uninvited from the league? We were in the final four last season and have a good chance of the quarter finals this year. We are fighting with cardiff and Coventry for 5th biggest ave crowd. They keep talking about expanding the league why would they kick us out? If anyone was going would teams with poorer crowds(caps dundee Rays) or a team with poorer league placing in the last couple of seasons(caps) not make more sense?

Dear Todd.
The team may have got what they deserved but WE certainly never.
2000 genuine fans got their pockets dipped again.
You`ll seldom see me criticize the coach or team but tonight they`re due it. It`s a pity they never put the same effort into the game as they did in Blue Monday afterwards.

4 years of his coaching, no improvement in last 3 years. Other than under 10s style hockey we've never seen the team play with any real game plans, luckily we've had individual talent along the way that's helped. 4 years of Brits that are way below standard, never started with a full quota, gassed 1 player in 4 years. In the last 3 years we've had individuals good enough to play on any team in the league but they get to Fife, are given a free license to do what they want and a laughable coach and owner. The clubs stuck in the 80s. Can see it being this way for the foreseeable so we better get used to it

Flat performance, too many guys never showed up.
How many times have we heard that this season.............!!!
Ridiculous that this situation has been allowed to go on for so long with absolutely nothing done to change it.

I still don't see that after four years in the EIHL we were capable of the low that was last nights performance, two or three players have a clear conscience, but the rest and a head coach have no excuses for taking money from people to watch that performance. Perhaps it was to encourage people to go alomg and watch the Kestrels playing their hearts out rather than these prima donnas not caring at all. Still fuming. Give us a team that cares and staff that prepares them for what they need to do on the ice, there must be lots of people like me thinking hard about next years season tickets.

Give us a team that cares and staff that prepares them for what they need to do on the ice, there must be lots of people like me thinking hard about next years season tickets. I agree it wasn't the greatest ref performance but not as bad as some people have made out, I think I may have unfairly picked out your comment as I was p***ed off last night when people were screaming on the way out the rink that "Toby had cost us the game and without his cheating we would have won easy" DOPS have targeted physical players and nickerson had a couple of bans but most if not all of our bans can be put down to our players stupidity(fultons XCheck to the head of grimshaw right in front of the ref is a great example) and when it comes to bans the clan have deservedly had it far worse than us. According to premier sports when asked on Twitter about the reason we had fixtures cancelled they said it was nothing to do with the arena and that they loved our old barn but if NRL and GAA (their highest ratings) fixtures clash with other sports the other sport gets dropped and we fell victim to that I'm afraid. The highlights show on the other hand was cancelled because of the league, the EIHL believed that the picture quality of the highlights by some teams were so poor that it made the league look bad. I can't disagree on the lack of consistency though if we take out season one in the eihl which was just a farce we really haven't improved, I'd even say that the season two team with Haines,Keller, pitton etc was far more entertaining to watch but even they had an awful away record. The players and the coaches have to take a long hard look at themselves and changes are needed from the top to bottom at the club but I think we know that is unlikely to happen.
