not sure the return fixture tonight ended the way people expected. Match abandoned after 31 mins after a line brawl at least one player going to hospital a couple stretchered off and the police called. not sure if any arrests made but one of the videos I saw it looks like a kestrels player is lying face down with a Whitley player on top of him hiring his head off the ice. Hopefully everyone is ok but if that's what to expect from the new look warriors I'm glad they aren't in our league.

What the Kestrels need is an enforcer

According to various things I've read it all kicked off after a blindside hit from a Kestrels player on a Whitley player that has caused a broken pelvis and concussion. Wasn't at the game but that's the rumour going round

All joking aside I just saw the Video. Disgusting stuff from the warriors. first fight the Kestrels player obviously wants nothing to do with it and at the end the warriors player still throwing punches while the kestrels player is down. This is precisely the behaviour an enforcer is on the ice to prevent. Do the kestrels have a recognised enforcer?

It brings up the enforcer debate again Warriors have one in Payette, but Lobby claims a Kestrel’s player still attacked Holland from the back (being disputed) and broke his pelvis. Payette comes off the bench (I think) and assaults a guy who’s clearly not looking to fight. End result- Warriors lose Holland for the season to a serious injury and Payette looks like he’ll miss a good few games through suspension. A couple of Kestrels will probably be waking up with a sore face this morning, but they’ll be fine to play this weekend.

Someone will have to answer the bell I'd imagine

Someone will have to answer the bell I'd imagine They play in different leagues so that won't be a problem. All I was trying to point out is that it's a balancing act- having an enforcer doesn't necessarily stop teams taking liberties and you still have to cope with their suspensions if they go out for revenge. I think the Flyers are daft not to have brought in a more disciplined tough guy like Craig Cescon, but I can kind of understand their logic with our lack of depth.

Speaking to a couple of kestrel players, and oh yes they were well intimidated by the likes of payette and had no desire to get involved physically or defend there team mates when they were getting a beating, due to they knew what would happen to them, if we were to play them again it would be game over before it had begun, team toughness is only words and does not protect you from the beatingd that were handed out last night. Do you think the same would have happened had Plewsy (senior) or Liam Greig still been at kestrels

Aye, without a doubt. No disrespect to either of these guys, but Payette is a level above these guys when it comes to enforcing. Fair play to him for having a go, but do you mind what happened when Greig tried to take on Jeremy Cornish at FIA? Cornish threw a couple and then just held him down because he knew it wasn't a fair fight.

Yip I do remember but grieg was not in that class but plewsy probably was not far away from payette, but my point is the team plays bigger knowing they have players who will step up to the mark if they are getting a hiding

I was at the game in Kirkcaldy and Whitley were taking liberties especially Tinsley (a real dirtbag) continually slashing Little the Kestrels goalie, and no one stopped him. Refs were a complete joke. Made Cowan, Craig and co look professional. Someone from Kestrels had a go but lost out badly. Kestrels were out of their depth both in terms of ability and physicality. They don't need an enforcer in the SNL but if they were in the NIHL they'd get killed every week without one. I just hope Flyers manage without one. At least this season we have respectable size throughout the team which I hope is enough to compensate for the lack of an enforcer. We'll find out soon enough.
