In the first of two EIHL Season Preview Podcasts Paul Balm, Aaron Lord, Andy Haywood & myself are in the Bunkers Hill Inn to discuss the prospects of the teams in the Gardiner Conference. As well as the round table chat Aaron speaks to Manchester Storm head coach Omar Pacha about his aspirations for the coming season. I also speak to Slapshot Scotland Craig Anderson about the chances of Edinburgh Capitals, Dundee Stars, Fife Flyers & Braehead Clan. The Erhardt Conference Preview will be available later in the week. Download or stream from this link: wp.me/pfQCK-1pr

Is it normal that I can't hear the questions you were asking Omar Pacha?

Is it normal that I can't hear the questions you were asking Omar Pacha? It was OK when I listened to the stream after it had gone live. Can I ask how you listened to it please?

It works fine for me when playing on the embedded player, however the questions are much louder in the left headphone than in the right headphone.

Maybe better you didn't hear much, not a prayer given to us by the show ;-)

Definitely watch this space I think was the feeling this year. Gut feel is our players aren't as strong as they others, and predicting bottom end again for us.

Haven't listened to it yet but I'll assume it's another "we'll be bottom because Dundee/Edinburgh have new coaches (despite being rookies)" even though on paper, we have the better imports?

You don't need to listen to it then as that is it in a nutshell and is enhanced by Craig Anderson saying exactly the same thing.

I'm no fan of Dutaiume as coach but what's funny is Anderson says there about Dutaiume shouldn't be the coach but as soon as he gets his interview with him he'll blow smoke up his a**e as usual. Suppose it's par for the course but still.

I really wanted a new coach this year, no hiding that I guess, but that said, Todd appears confident in the roster, it does look to have good scorers, and a far more rounded D than we've historically had, so you could argue that's its not so much the Flyers team folks are judging, but rather that others have potentially improved more than we have. Was probably a fair assessment on the podcast, lets see if the Flyers can make it come back and bite them.

To be fair he actually praised the work Todd has done and his service to the Flyers but says that a change in coach and a fresh approach is what he thought was needed for us to really move forward. Which is pretty much the same feeling most folk on Social media and on this forum had when it was announced Todd was coming back.

^true. I'd actually like him to ask Dutaiume or Danny in an interview the reasons they think they can take us forward, I'd be interested to hear what they said when asked by someone with no links to the flyers
