With immediate effect Dundee Stars have increased their ticket prices to £17.50.
As we seem to closely link things with Dundee and seeing that our prices have remained somewhat stable for a little while do people think that this something we will consider as well?

With our crowds having dropped over the past month or so and heading into the festive season I would say from a business stand point this would be the wrong time to put any increase in place.
I would be very surprised if this happened this season, For next season yeah I expect them to go up.
On our attendance numbers this past Saturday they seemed to be very low but was on the game sheet as 1938 which is only 91 less than the Braehead game, I had it more like 1500 at most. Braehead had at least a few hundred through for the game, Caps never had anything like that. I find it hard to believe that the number of home fans has gone up.

I don't think Flyers would put up prices mid-season .Flyers directors have stated in the past that this year's budget is set by last year's income. This would contradict that. Does it point to problems in Dundee or did their management just not think the great unwashed couldn't stomach a price increase after last season?

mr ward said at the fans forum at least season's playoff weekend that dundee can't afford 14 imports next year so may be this is there way of making some extra cash to help them bring the full quota in

I too was surprised at the official attendance of 1938 on Saturday, I thought it looked like it was the lowest attendance of the season so far by quite a bit, around the 1500 mark ?

Could just be that a major sponsor has pulled out for Dundee. You never know.
Ticket prices are always tricky because it's a very fine line. If I could, I would experiment with a £10 ceiling price for tickets, but then there is never a guarantee that it would actually increase attendances.
But if it did, then the loss of revenue from lower prices would hopefully help attract higher sponsorship money.
But of course I don't think any owners are in a position to gamble with such a theory.
One thing I would say though, is that I don't think a winning team is necessarily essential, but one that doesn't get blown out of the water and can offer entertainment value certainly is - some of the best games I've been to have been losses, some of the worst games I have been to have been victories.

The best thing the Flyers supporters should do is boycott Dundee home game that would serve them right for increasing prices during the season.

Seems like a lot to go and see a hockey game.
Remember how popular LP's were till they went up to a fiver!
