Edinburgh Capitals will lose the services of Ned Lukacevic due to issues with the renewal of his work permit with immediate effect.
This means that he will not be able to play in the game tonight against Coventry Blaze.
Scott Neil said, "New regulations introduced this year have prevented the ability to renew the permit after the IIHF signing deadline. After speaking with the League Chairman and UKBA it is hoped that this requirement can be re-adjusted again for future seasons as it can only really impact players already signed and registered for UK clubs. There has been some confusion on the new regulations. I feel sorry for Ned,the fans and the rest of the team who are already playing short due to an injury crisis but we have exhausted all attempts to look for a solution."

I thought when he signed for Edinburgh after getting released by Coventry that the work permit they would have applied for would last until the end of the season? Obviously not but what a stupid situation to find yourself in. Did Edinburgh only apply for a temp work permit that lasts for 3 months or so?
