This weekend sees the annual jamboree that is junior hockey at Kirkcaldy with the first weekend of this years Hockey UK tournament.
There has been changes to this years format with KIHC deciding to mirror the age groups in England so as to attract English teams and for the local boys to see different opposition.
So instead of the traditional U10/12/14 and 16s this weekend we will have U13s and U15s with two teams representing Fife at U13 level, Kirkcaldy Chiefs and Fife Chiefs along with Billingham Stars, Telford Tigers, Whitley Mohawks and Dundee Stars.
At U15 level we will have Fife Flames, Kilmarnock Tornados, Telford Tornados, Whitley Tomahawks, Billingham Stars and Dundee Stars.
Games start at 7am Sat morning and from 7.30 Sun morning and it is £20 for a weekend pass for adults and £12 for a child with day passes being £12 and £8

An update after the first Hockey UK weekend:
U13 Despite splitting the team into 2,to ensure all players had the opportunity for lots of ice time, the Chiefs finished 1st and 3rd against other teams full squads.
Kirkcaldy Chiefs took the trophy after beating Dundee Stars in Overtime during a thrilling final.
Fife Chiefs lost out to Kirkcaldy Chiefs in the Semi final 2 goals to 1.
The All Star team represented the strength of KIHC at this age group with D-Men Fynn Page and Lee Murison along with Forwards Jake Grubb and Harvey Topen being selected.
U15: Fife Flames also won their title going undefeated through the tournament and overcoming Billingham in the final.
Reece Kelly and James Spence were selected for the U15 All Star team.
This weekend it's the chance of the U11, who have also been split into 2 teams, to do their stuff. Games start from 8am Saturday running until 6pm, come along and have a look at the future of KIHC.
