I'm sure Stars will feel they let themselves down badly at the weekend which saved Todd from the potential frying pan, I thought Fife stole the game on Saturday but hung in and out worked Dundee on Sunday for a deserved win and showed what the team can achieve with hard work although make no mistake until they got a 2 goal lead and powerplays in the last four minutes which were a great help they looked vulnerable as Stars players took daft penalties stopping the coach removing their goalie for the extra man.

Stars have only scored 18 goals in 9 league games and conceded 33 compared to Flyers scoring 33 goals and conceding 28. The stats suggest that Stars are a little bit toothless at the moment and that their defence is being caught out too often.

Two wins at the weekend was great for us, 4 conference and 4 league points in the bag.
We still need to make a few changes in my opinion though. Whilst we sneaked past the bottom team in the league this weekend you have to remember the four previous games, the double headers against Clan and Steelers where we were very much second best, never looked like winning and lost the lot.
A bit more grit in the team wouldn't go amiss and a little more passion from some of the players here would help also. We need to start feeding everyone whatever Justin Fox is on this year, what an improvement in that guy, almost unrecognisable as the same player from last season.

Was fox not playing through a bit of an injury last season? Might explain things on that front

Mind you he might have picked up an accent in the past month so the coaches might think he's an import and play him!

This league has improved season after season and is at a very high level now. Wands and Tommy managed to play as part of a 4 man defence for what 4 games and 2 of them were shut outs. Were they only good enough then. Gunny has more than proved himself at this level. Hell (and I admit I cant quite believe this myself) Scoonie was for me up there on Saturday for MOM. His work rate and willingness to get stuck in made a difference. Now do they make mistakes, yup they do but hang on ...... so does every player out on the ice. Some of our imports have played downright awful this season but get a regular shift/game regardless. What was dutes quote from a few seasons back "what am I supposed to do not play my imports" when Ned etc were taking the p***. Gunny Scoonie etc watching a import defenceman play up front (something he is awful at btw)and then have to watch Tommy do the same!!! All for being a team player but jeezo that's taking the p*** something awful. What makes them so unreliable they play every week and do what the coach and club needs. They ain't the best and yes I have said we need better but we don't have that as an option. We have continued to sign them year after year so you know what use them. NO Excuses NO b/s just play the guys.

There are other talented British players if only coaches took their blinkers off.

And Tommy won't pay for outsiders, so we are left with what is there.
